-2/3rd majority votes of our joint- parliament prior to we sign any accord-

Kathmandu: It is being argued that as per the statutory provision of our constitution, there has to be a decision made and approved by 2/3rd majority votes of our joint- parliament prior to we sign any accord with foreign countries, including neighbors, for undertaking or letting them built inter-country projects, including waterways or railways connectivities with Nepal.

We may therefore perhaps have to make sure that such cross- country roadways or railways , either with China, under BRI or otherwise, or with India, being undertaken under Hulaki Marga or under general or tacit understanding between two Governments, at whatever level, need to be put for final approval of the constituent assembly as per the prevailing statutory provisions , so that there may be smooth sailing of such projects without getting embroiled in legal complications during the course of action.
