Maoists must shun rebel mentality: Minister Pokharel

“The Unified Maoists’ Party is largest in the parliament but, the party is still a rebel force”, said Information and Communications Minister Shankar Pokharel.

Pokharel said, “The UML is not in favor of allowing the Maoists to lead the government unless and until they change their rebel mentality.”

The minister made the remark addressing a program in Bhaktapur, December 25, 2010.

  • Yes I agree but i think they have shunned guns when The PLA and the guns are inside the govt organised and approved camps.I think the delay is on the part of the govt to regularise the issue. I think it is their rebel mentality that the country might see changes in the country,we need complete overhauling in the existing system.They have shunned weapons but rebellious mentality will continue.We cannot change that.

  • Shankar Pokhrel's only job seems to be critical of Maoists whether it is logical or illogical.
