Threat to Democracy, not from King: Nepal Foreign Minister

I have the information that days ahead for democracy in Nepal are not favorable. As a foreign minister of the country, I have received information that conspiracies are being hatched to do away with the democratic system...however, there is no threat to democracy as such from the King.

Nepal's foreign Minister Sujata Koirala made these hair-raising remarks at an interaction program held in Kathmandu, October 31, 2010.

  • Mrs.Sujata Jost (Koirala)- herself is a traitor as her father-Girija.In 1991, Girija Prasad Koirala became the Prime Minister. After becoming the premier, Koirala Congressionized the nation’s administrative management and introduced several, plans and pilfered state coffers. Koirala until 1994, sold 12 organizations and industries contributed by China, taking millions as commission. He drained the nation’s economy through the Boeing, Damija and Lauda scams in the name of suppressing communist- the suppression impelled Maoist revolution. It is a habit of Koirala to support the King when he retains the post and jump in opposition against King after being removed from the post. Koirala who became Prime Minister every now and then through many conspiracies became PM once again after 2005 by treading on the Constitution and riding on Maoist shoulders. We had believed he would not repeat the past mistakes while working. After reaching the state power Koirala declared secularism and republic to perish Nepal’s identity. Traitors never become positive. Girija pressured to appoint his characterless, corrupt daughter Sujata Koirala (Jost-German citizen), who had appointed Vice-PM and foreign minister. She is the agent of India who wants to destroy Nepal supporting the Republish. So, we hate Sujata-the culprit lady. The country is standing on the verge of dismemberment in the last four years. When the relationship between the king and the people have been detached one can easily imagine, Nepal can't remain safe and unified if monarchy is actually abolished from the country. In a country with such geographical and ethnic diversities Nepal will fall into a severely dangerous situation because of the tug of war for power and money.   • You are right. The monarchy was never a threat to democracy and gave what Nepalese people wished for, even the Crown . The threat was somewhere else. The sooner all of us realize and restore Monarchy the better.

  • Sujata is rihgt. King is not any thread for Nepali democracy. when political parties abolished the 240 year old monarchical institution then welcome to the criticle position of democracy. In any way when the monarchical institution was present there democracy was right track. In a way major political party leaders' had lack of historical political development knowledge of Nepal that is why they mess current political crasis and security situation of Nepal became more worst than monarchical period.

  • In reality,it's a suicidal act of NC to accept the undemocratic and anti-national proposal of anti-democratic power to completely sideline the institution of monarchy.If democracy is once fully derailed by anti-democratic force,the chance of reviving the same is very very slim.Indeed,monarchy has never and ever been found fully undemocratic force in the country,that's why time and agin it has been activated.So,time is running out but not yet fully lapsed in order to correct the past fatal mistake of NC.Monarchy is the only long-term fate of democratic future of independent nation,Nepal.Nepal without monarch means great threat to democracy and sovereignty,that's why earlier the realisation and revive the fully constitutional monarchy better for nation,people and democratic future.Jay Nepal !

  • True democrats had better start on reviving a constitutional monarchy to buffer any attempts at dictatorships or communism. Democracy must prevail in Nepal if we are to make any progress in the 21st century. This has to be done before we are a buffer basket case in between two of the worlds biggest economies and used by their terrorists as a safe haven and used by foreign powers as a destabilising force like North Korea or Afghanistan. And more importantly do this before we have nothing and before people like myself have to resort to extreme measures to save the sovereignity of this nation.
