Indian PM prepared to face China in South Asia

Telegraph Nepal

China would like to have a foothold in South Asia and we have to reflect on this reality. There is a new assertiveness among the Chinese. It is difficult to tell which way it will go. So, it’s important to be prepared…not only would continued differences (between India and Pakistan) give countries like China the opportunity to exploit, but also impede progress in South Asia…the world is large enough for India and China to "cooperate and compete" at the same time.

The Indian Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh made the remark September 7, 2010 talking to journalists in New Delhi.

  • China has strategically placed itself in Nepal. But why should China. Well out of its own interest. China will care for any nation even rouge like pakistan nation to further its interest but how long and what is the consequances of this for those nations concerned. We are already headed into WW3. China has no technology of its own. It came up with the help of US technology to improve it production. US will always be most innovative country in the world. Europe goes with US and within two decades you will see US again rising to power. May be less time. China will not have any technological advantage. While India has supported many Nepalis in the army and have been like brothers for year. India can now see the true colours of Nepal. Anyway, wait for the time and it will prove US or China. If it is US then it is Europe and then it is India too otherwise it is China, pakistan and Nepal.

  • India always want to have hegimony over south asia according to its gandi doctrine ,and india try but never capable to plan for long period partially it is successeding but more than this earning enemity around her, where as chinese steps are seems heading right to the center in the region without earning enemity .Nepal actually do not have much option except to follow the idea of india but it wants both side benifited ,soonner or latter as world is changing as smaller village same way every thing will be mixed in the future and both the countries have similarity do not take much time to have so.india do not need to show its extra diplomacy like other countries, both the country will prosporus as time passes.

  • dear all, i am indian and i strongly feel that indian policy for handling situations in nepal is not correct.nepal and nepali people have been cooperating with indians since ancient days. Now nepal is freed from monarchy and they want to develop their own policies and ensure development of their nation which is their right as independent nation. Indian govt must understand this and change their policies towards nepal with immediate effect. if they want to go to china its their right. We should learn respecting their soverginity as independent nation. please donot treat them as your younger brother rather treat and respect them as your friend. Nepal is beautiful country with very good people there. they are known for their honesty in all over world. So india should take pragmative view on dealing with your neigbour like nepal. Further you should not humilate them on account of your supplies them and keep on doing whatever you can do best for them without expecting them to be your slaves. regard them and respect them. they would regard and respect you twice then what you do for them. but india should take lead in this matter on urgent basis. hope indian leaders would take note of this.

  • It is my sincere advice to our Indian brothers to understand that Nepal is not anti Indian. We are brothers-problem is that you do not understand this simple fact.Destablizing nepal cost you heavily and tomorrow note ir my brother may be irriperable loss for Indian which again we donot wish.we wish our brother Indian should be in peace and development. Surprisingly your south block brain are gone -there is only mind not heart. You know my brother -Nepal relation has been handling since time immemorial from heart more and mind less.Unfortunatelly it is a vice versa situation. Call Monarchy again in Nepal without feeling shame-one mistake you did no problem but wise person is he who corrects. After that history is testomony that how Nepal was a true friend for you.It will come back again. Repairing the small damage will lead to you nowhere.Attack on the roote cause.
