Ex-Nepal King must be told to quit Nagarjun Palace: Maoist leader

TGW

Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’, vice chairman of Unified Maoists’ Party has once again demanded that Nepal’s ex-King Gyanendra must be told to quit the Nagarjun Palace.

Nagarjun Palace is located some eight kilometers north-west from downtown Kathmandu.

The June 4, 2008, decision of Nepal Government had decided to grant the Nagarjun Palace to the former king and his family.

Talking to journalists at Dhangadi Airport, March 27, 2010, Mr. Shrestha said that the former King’s recent remarks challenging the decision of Constituent Assembly to declare the country republic was the insult of peoples’ verdict.

When asked to comment on what it means taking people’s action against the former King said Prakash, “he deserves direct action from the people.”

Prior to blaming others and attempting to attack others in their saying,it would be better and beneficial to go and see own's face in the mirror. One should not forget about how own has been failed and been clothless to cover even the sensitive part of the body.Jay Nepal !

If Gyanendra wants to come back he should join the existing political party like Mandale Party run by Thapa or form new one. Monarchy is not coming back. And yes, he should be kicked out of the Nagarjun Palace.

This sounds of absolute dictatorship on part of the maoist leadership;in every successful democratic setup everyone has the right to freedom of expression;most importantly Mr Gyanendra has been the head of state of Nepal. As a former Head of state he is entitled to be provided accomadation and security by the government. Were GP Koirala and others not given such facilities;they were!.Even the present President will get it post demitting the office;then why a hue and cry?The Nagarjun palace is the rightful property of the ex King and the state has no right whatsoever to intervene in it

Commented by Karan - March 28, 2010 @ 2:32 AM

It will be good start. State mechnism should afford facility to only present top post or top politcal leader not to ex-top leaders.

Yeah right, first maoist quit from all the properties that you have illegally and forcefully captured from the nepali janta. King has every right to be there. In fact he ought to be in the palace which you plotted along with your foreign masters including the indians and the ever interfering Yankees. King belong to the people and no one can take that away from us. Narayan Kazi should watch his words and cant be saying anything at this hour to sway and mislead the people
