Nepal Monarchy is symbol of National Unity, I am not a Royalist: Khadka

TGW

Khum Bahadur Khadka, a senior Nepali Congress leader who freshly held talks with last Hindu King of Nepal Gyanendra Shah at a religious ceremony in Pashupati Nath Temple area talking to one of the largest National dailies, Nagarik dated March 11, 2010, says that Monarchy in Nepal is the symbol of National Unity.

“No matter who says what I still believe that Monarchy is the symbol of National Unity”, says Khadka and in the course of the same exclusive interview he also determinedly claims that he is not a Royalist.

“If Monarchy was not abolished there would have been less foreign interference”, he continues.

"The foreigners are hyper active in Nepal. How many foreign delegation visit Nepal? What sorts of people come here?"

He adds that Hindu state declaration of Nepal is not the agenda adopted by the Nepali Congress Party. He says, “It is my personal agenda, I want to re-establish Nepali identity.”

“How a country that has more than 80 per cent Hindu population can be declared secular, why not a plebiscite be held to decide the issue…our politicians have received hefty sum of money to take the decision”, he adds.

“There must be foreign missionaries who were behind this secular declaration”, he adds.

“I do not think that India may have spent money to demolish the only Hindu state in the World”, Khadka also claims.

Its not only an opinion of Mr.Khum Bd.Khadka and some other selective figures of society but its a reality and voices of larger section of society that institution of monarchy and separate identity of Hindu state are the main foundation of national unity and strong Nepal.Late B.P. Koirala, who was widely beleived to be an statesman so far been born in Nepal till today, was in any case and circumstances not be underistimated or ignorged.Late Koirala suffered a lot personally and institutionally from then monarchs but he would never rejected the ground reality that there would be no united and sovereign Nepal in absence of monarchy. He always stressed needing monarchy to bring under democractic norms rather than completely abolition of the same. But,unfortunately, current politicians including top congress leaders have attempted to forget what the great leader and founder of NC party, late B.P.,had tried to save this nation by not fully ignorging monarchy. Its a failure of NC and other leaders to make monarchy a democratic institution, monarch alone could not be blamed for all. So,time is running out but still there is some possibilities to make this country stable, democratic and prosperous by recogniging an inmstitution of monarchy and giving it only symbolic role of guardian for national unity and saviour of multi-cultures and religions.Powers to people's elected representatives and honor and dignity to institution of monarchy,is the demand of land, time and situation.Earlier the realization better the result.Jay Nepal !

It is hundred percent right over the issue of monarchical institution. Khadka opinion is right. Most of trouble created by major political parties of Nepal. UML and Congress party leaders were trying to abolish monarchical isntitution as agenda of Maoist party. Now they should accept or surrender the dogma of Maoist party whatever is. UML and congress great party leaders were thinking they are great party activists in Nepal but those those things Maoaist party leaders are more talent then they. If they UML and congress great leaders would like to adopt the lost immage first they should restablish the 240 year monarchical institution.

Mr. Khadka why don't you lead the Nepali Congress Party by sidlining GPK and all these Sadak Chhap netas. Good to see a senior leader of NC is speaking in favour of Monarchy and Hindu Kingdom. Keep it up people are behind you.

What nonsense. Of course india is involved. And christian missionaries are involved. India itself is a secular country. India is ruled by pseudo hindus and christians. They are the ones to impose secularism on us. But mainly i would blame our ministers who are sadak chaps and uneducated hooligans who have no iota of critical thinking. I think they maybe even have not done primary one. And we put our nation on the hands of these mongrels. It was like giving a coconut to a monkey. So blame ourselves the foolish nepali people without any critical thinking selecting these morons to rule the country. Of course the monarchy was our identity and uniting factor. Of course our hindu identity stopped our disintegration much earlier. BAsic common sense can enlighten us. Think before you do. Critical thinking is very important in every aspect of your life. Plan things before you do it. I urge our government to declare Hindu kingdom without any waste of time. IT should be done ASAP.
