Nepal Maoist’s India bash evaporates after Bhattarai-RAW meet

TGW
Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai after attending the Patna Conference organized by the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in close collaboration of the Indian Embassy, Nepal, and after his alleged meeting with a high ranking RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) official in Gorakhpur of India that lasted for more than two hours has visibly got a new political boost, it is presumed here.
Bhattarai is taken as an India man by a section of his own Maoist party colleagues is the only leader who is in a talking mood thata generally go in India's interests.

Most importantly, after Bhattarai’s return home, say experts he has been successful to draw the party chairman Prachanda closer to his camp.

Mohan Baidya ‘Kiran’, Bhattarai’s sharp critic in the party and who represents the group of the hardliners too is not in an India bashing mood.

This noticeable change? But how?

While Bhattarai just the other day demanded slashing the size of Nepal Army after his Patna pilgrimage, he also claimed, March 06, 2010, that he and his party were still in favor of drafting the new constitution on time, as stipulated by the Interim Constitution.
Beggining Nehru's time, India has been suggesting nepal to slash the numerical strength of its Army men for some mystrerious reasons.
And here is our own highly academic national, Dr. Bhattarai, talking on the Nehru line.

Nepal’s Interim constitution now in force is set to expire May 27, 2010 late evening.

The vice chairman of the Unified Maoists’ Party however, claimed talking to press men in Nepalgunj of Banke district that with the formation of National Unity Government it was just a matter of a month that the country can get the new constitution.

He did not demand the formation of National Unity Government under the Maoists’ command. Rather, said Bhattarai the question of government leadership could well be sorted out amicably by the political parties in consensus.

Himalayan deviation from Maoist’s earlier stand.
The Gorakhpur meet with RAW officxials worked so fast?

“If the deadlock persists, it is unlikely even in the remaining eighty days that we will draft the constitution”, he warned.

He also debunked the allegation that the Unified Maoists’ Party was in favor of extending the tenure of the Constituent Assembly.

Similarly, Dr. Bhattarai talking to his cadres in Bardiya of Gulariya district on Saturday, March 6, 2010, also claimed that if the Constituent Assembly was dissolved, the Maoists’ Party will immediately declare yet another revolt.

He also asked his cadres to remain vigilant against the likelihood of foreign intervention and possible military intervention.

But which country and whose military will intervene, Dr. Bhattarai remained tight lipped.

The Bhattarai-RAW meet appears to have worked as expected by the authorites across the border.

He revealed amid an interaction program “Nationalism, Civilian Supremacy and Challenges to Constitution Drafting” that conspiracies were being hatched to impose Military rule in the country and dissolve the constituent assembly.
