Buffalo Worship pays in Nepal politics

TGW

After Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ chairman of the Nepal Communist Party-Unified Maoists performed Water Buffalo pooja February 12, 2010, Nepal’s deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala too rushed to perform the same ritual February 21, 2010, to ward off the negative effects of Sani Graha-Saturn planet.

Sujata performed the ritual exactly ten days after Prachanda had performed the buffalo worship at Chatara dham of Sunsari District.

Om Sama Sanischaraya Nama, Sujata repeated the Vedic scripture many a times as did Prachanda recently.

The deputy prime minister was suggested to perform the pooja by astrologer Swami Krishna Das Maharaj who also informed her about the state of Mesh (Aries) Rashi.

“You will continue to remain in your current post until one and half years more and you are likely to make frequent trips abroad”, said another astrologer Madhu Sudan Rijal.

The astrologer perhaps doesn’t know about the fact that the entire CA body and the ministerial posts will become unconstitutional if the constitution is not written on or before May 27, 2010.

“There are some doshas in your fate…I suggest you to worship Buffalo on a regular basis”, continued Rijal.

Sujata said she would comply.

Thus Sujata performed the ritual that lasted for over half an hour.

Similarly, Minendra Rijal-, minister for Culture who had accompanied Sujata was suggested to worship Cow.

Minister Rijal is a Gemini by birth.

The astrologers predicted that Minister Rijal’s fate was very bright.

Nepali Congress Leader Arjun Nar Singh K.C. and veteran communist C. P. Mainali have already performed Graha Shanti pooja at the Chatara Dham, it is reported.

Even though i do not believe in astrology and such, i feel so happy to take part in such rituals as per our culture and traditions. Feel happy that our ministers are continuing it. Our traditions are unique indeed. But i request the hindu authorities to immediately ban animal offerings in temples. That is the worst ritual we practice and it should be stopped please. Let us make offer of flowers and sweets to our heavenly gods. I really hope all hindu brothers and sisters will stop animal sacrifice in temples.
