China wants Extradition Treaty with Nepal similar to India

TGW

Nepali and Chinese high ranking officials on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, signed an agreement to further enhance law enforcement cooperation between the two traditional and friendly neighbors.

China's Public Security Minister, Meng Jianzhu and visiting Nepal’s Home Minister Mr. Bhim Rawal, signed an agreement to that effect in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

As per the agreement, China will provide logistic support, such as vehicles and communication equipments to Nepal’s law enforcement agencies worth Rupees 2 Crore.

On the other hand, it has been mentioned right in the agreement that Nepal stands ever committed to the One China Policy and will not allow its territory for anti-China activities.

Was it necessary to mention the One China policy clause?

This clearly demonstrates that the Chinese regime never took words repeatedly expressed by Nepal’s political actors seriously. Will India follow suit?

“It has also been agreed that a talk team would be constituted by both sides to develop a mechanism to control cross border criminal activities”, it is reported.

However, there are series of serious jolts to India coming from Beijing.

Says Tanka Karki, Nepal’s ambassador to Beijing that China too has strongly forwarded proposal for signing the Extradition Treaty with Nepal much similar to what India has been demanding since long.

And China is keen on extending support for the construction of Nepal’s Armed Police Academy, similar to the one India has proposed to construct for Nepal Police Force. However, it is yet to be seen if China will also attach similar clauses that India has set for the construction of Police Academy in Panauti of Kavre.

India wants its national to head the Nepal Police Academy.

More over, India has said that the Police Academy of Nepal will have Indian consultants and India advisors. “India had also proposed appointment of representatives of Indian Ministry Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and India Embassy in Kathmandu at the executive body of the Police Academy”, report earlier revealed.

The location of Armed Police Academy going to be constructed by China will hopefully be somewhere in the Southern plains of Nepal, experts say.
The competition thus begins.

let us not make too many assumption here. China will built police academy. Becasue,Nepal do not have money to build. They will not come and train police to look after the Indians in Nepal. Also, Indian giving the aid so we can house our police in unleaked building. They are providing a resources just use it. I don't think Indian Build Trivubhan University cause Nepal to become a Indian province. In fact TU, over the fifty years history, has produce more anti indian Nepali then its supporter. At the same time Trally bus did not prevented, Indians to establish business and industry in Benepa.
