Chinese envoy's sudden dash to Rasuwa district

TGW

The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Quo Guohang, has suddenly arrived in Rasuwa district, November 20, 2009.

Ambassador Guohang is in the said district reportedly to observe the Syfrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road that is being constructed under the “Chinese guidance and assistance”.

This road links Nepal’s border with Tibet in the far North.

Upon the completion of this road, the citizens of Rasuwa will have direct links with the adjoining Tibetan market.

About 19 kilometers of the Road has already been completed, say Rasuwa dwellers.

The Chinese envoy during his Rasuwa stay has already visited the local Kalika Himalaya campus, Kalika Cooperative Hospital and Rasuwa dairy.

During his stay in Rasuwa, the Chinese Ambassador is also to visit the bordering villages and also visit the site of the Chilimey Hydro Power project.

While being in Rasuwa, the local population reportedly threw a red carpet welcome to the Chinese Ambassador.

The Chinese envoy has assured the locals that he would be coming to Rasuwa at regular intervals.

CA member Prem Tamang is also accompanying the Chinese team to Rasuwa, claim reports.

Ambassador Guohang is returning Kathmandu today, November 21, 2009.

I really appreciate the comment made by Mr. Nava Raj Pant. He had put forward a very wide perspective for possibility of Nepal's Trading with Europe and Central Asian countries through China. Syfrubeshi-Rashwagadhi road will be one of the important milestone for such trade possibilities. China is also looking forward for realizing its goal to build Asian Highway which will facilitate the trading between its neighbouring countries. If this concept of Asian Highway is establish Nepal may not have to rely only on India for the trading routes to other countries.

This Syfrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road is very important road to link with the Kajastan and Europe in future. The purposed Chepang Marg ( Malekhu - Lothar ) may be shortest route for this road to link India via Birgunj.

Political polarization is not there as yet. To remind you, the Maoists have come only after a people’s war but not the rest of the political parties. It could be this factor which may have brought or to come to surface certain differences with the Maoists over some political issues. More..
