After a long gap, a Chinese Delegation comprising of key Military officials is visiting Nepal beginning November 19, 2009.
The Chinese Military Delegation will be led by the People’s Liberation Army Commander Lieutenant General Xu Yutai, who also heads the Chinese Army in Tibet.
Tibet is China’s underbelly.
The delegation will visit Lumbini, November 20, 2009.
Lumbini is close to the Indian border.
After holding talks with the Chinese Delegation, CoAS Gurung is scheduled to visit India, beginning December 11, 2009.
Analysts remain askance as to whether Nepal was adopting a policy of “Equi-distance” or that of “Equi-proximity” with its neighbors through the exchange of such visits?
Interestingly, Nepal’s former monarch Gyanendra Shah is to embark on a trip to India, December 6, 2009.
The Former King of Nepal will stay in India for a week period and hold high level political consultations there “on matters of mutual interests”.
The Chief of the Rastriya Prajatanra Party-Nepal Mr. Kamal Thapa talking to journalists in Kathmandu confirmed that the former King is heading to New Delhi shortly where he will hold meetings with Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Whether the former Supreme Commander of the Nepal Army, the former King of Nepal, will meet with the incumbent Chief of the Nepal Army General Gurung in India is not yet known.
Mr. Gurung is heading to India at the invitation of India’s Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor.
Ms. Ritu Gurung, if you don't like Hindus that much, why don't you adopt a Han name instead?
Well, whatever you do, the people of Nepal and India are almost indistinguishable from each other, have always been close friends and will continue to be close friends.
