New Nepal: Lady Minister slaps High Ranking Govt. Official

TGW

Nepal’s State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperative, Kareema Begum has made a history by slapping a high ranking Government official amid presence of huge number of her party cadres and government officials.

“Yes, I handcuffed him and slapped him five times”, the minister after manhandling the Parsa Chief District Officer, Mr. Durga Prasad Bhanadari, beamingly said.

“We were taken aback by her acts…thereafter, she began abusing the Chief District officer”, eyewitness report claims.

“I slapped him because he sent for me an old vehicle at the Airport”, said the lady minister who was also accompanied by her husband.

“I made him telephone calls demanding additional security but he did not pick up the phone even”, she continued.

“I had to slap him because he did not listen to a Republican minister”, she added.

Mrs. Begum is the leader of the pro-Madhesi Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Lokatantrik Party led by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Bijaya Kumar Gacchedhar.

“If the government officials closedown government offices in Birgunj, I will close down the entire Birgunj city”, also threatened the Minister.

“After Begum slapped the CDO, her party cadres also pounced upon the District Officer”, report adds.

The government official, however, is out of danger, say reports.

To add, the state minister for Education Chanda Chaudhary had only recently smashed her vehicle provided by the government claiming that the vehicle was an old one.

Mrs. Chaudhary is the leader of the pro-Madhesi Tarai-Madhesh Lokatantrik Party (TMLP) led by Mahanta Thakur.

I dont think we should get emotionally excited as both minister & cdo are Not so called "Dudh ka dhula huwa". Govt. officials & ministers are equally corrupt especially in Indian bordered cities where major public revenues are originated. The whole system is based on give n take relationship under the table. Corruption is rampant & blatant in govt. offices. Here, Ministers are elected by support of few greedy self interest groups basically business community gaining power to bend economic policies in their favor. On this ground, we can't expect a minister/leader to possess a great vision, high level of maturity, political knowledge, intelligence, ethical & moral obligations, etc. On the other hand, the govt. official like CDO or customs officer or other high ranked officials are bound to be corrupt by choice/no choice. The news depicts that there was ego clash between minister & CDO. The maturity they should carry were utterly forgotten. It is accepted that CDO sends vehicle on courtesy n has no obligation, if that was the case he should hv denied boldly rather sending old vehicle to infuriate the minister already waiting for an hour & making un replied call to CDO. What seems is CDO deliberately infuriated minister out of his personal ego while not respecting the prestigious post.If only old vehicle was available he could have visited personally to receive minister. But, he didnt consider worthwhile to pay visit to minister. Where as, the infuriated minister, behaving like infant, leaving all her maturity outside district office immaturely slapped CDO publicly. This is New Nepal alias Bihar... Jai Nepal Jai Pahaad Jai Madhes.

This clearly shows the mental status of minister of nepal. This is so wrong.

This news has circled the world! (I am from Australia). It's a pity that the only news to come from Nepal is about a silly woman who thinks she is more important than she really is....and cares more about how new a car is than the well-being of the communities she is supposed to govern. I think she should be fired immediately!

Just because CDO did not provide vehicle Mr. Khan is asking how he can manage district ? Can you tell what she has done or capable of doing as a minister ? What are her acheivements till now as a minister? or just to get the facilities from the government? CDO is not forced to ssupply vehicles to ministers, if they do, it is just for courtesy. CDO is not to be sacked but this so called minister should be locked for behind the bar for public offence.

In the name of inclusive politics they pick "Aire Gaire, Nathu, Khaire" as minister. This woman is worth for ........ If she wht is ministrial position, call the CDO, talk to him in a good manner. Finally, CDO is not responsible to provide vehicles to anybody. They provide vehicle as courtesy.

Very good if CDO slapped by Mrs.Karima, why he do not send a good vehicle if she called him,why he do not pick the phone if she called to him. CDO is the responsible to arrange security and every thing. very good if such cdo slapped .I think such cdo should be sacked from his post.if he can not manage for a minister how he will handle all district.

Who started such culture? Maoists. Many Maoists have done such criminal activities in the past, but no punishment. Maoists are not only manhandling, theyare issuing orders to vacate properties owned by opposition party activists, even though they are poorer than Maoists. Maoists are hiding the killers of Ram Hari Shrestha and Prachanda Tahiba. So, for me this news is not a surprise.

As a citizen of Nepal, through this news blog to the Ministy of home affairs to immediately attest the minister and prosecute her for disturbing and manhandling the officials in duty .If she is not arrested and put undertrail, this will continue in other places of country and no son of good citizen will ever desire to become a civil servants of the nation.. Really , this is disgusting. And mokery of judicial and civil administration system of Nepal.. God bless Nepal and Nepalese who are not affiliate to goon and gangs.

Five questions

alt No design to corner Maoists
Pashupati Shumser Rana , Chairman, Rastriya Prajatantra Party
Political polarization is not there as yet. To remind you, the Maoists have come only after a people’s war but not the rest of the political parties. It could be this factor which may have brought or to come to surface certain differences with the Maoists over some political issues. More..
