Comrade Rohit needs no introduction. He is a declared nationalist. He was the one among the crowd of many Nepali leaders who told point blank that New Delhi time permitting will screw Nepal if the 12 point agreement was signed in New Delhi. He still sticks to his views which he aired prior to the Delhi agreement.
He says, upon signing of the 12 point agreement, the jackal will exit from the front gate but “wolves” will enter Nepal from the backdoor. However, he did not reveal as to whom he took as the jackal and wolf? Meaning lay underneath perhaps.
Let’s listen to this communist veteran what he has to say of the unfolding politics in the country: Ed.
TGQ1: Is it that the country is leading towards an even violent conflict in the coming days? The current collision in between the major political parties appears to be so. Is the current stalemate is only limited to the distribution of power booties? What is your comment in this regard Mr. Rohit?
Comrade Rohit: The ruling partners, more so, the Nepali Congress and the United Marxists Leninists at the moment appear to have acquired a defensive posture. That is why chances of going to a conflict appear remote at the moment. Had there been courage in these parties, the NC and the UML, they would have not gone to New Delhi and signed the 12 point agreement in a subservient manner. They did so because they lacked courage.
Since these parties have already made a tradition of being in the power structure and elevate the ranks of their kinsmen, henchmen, stooges and the likes and thus these parties only seek benefits. These are capitalistic parties in essence.
Struggle doesn’t provide benefits or political gains, as mentioned above, or whatsoever and thus I think they will not dare to invite conflict for fear of losing the gains whatever they have now. The chances of a fierce conflict are a distant affair at least for the time being. This is what I presume.
I sense that a great conspiracy is being hatched by a section of the UML and the Nepali Congress to elevate the ranks of Jhal Nath Khanal to the post of the Prime Minister at the cost of the Nepal President. President is being made the escape goat. In the process, the Nepali Congress will be the prime loser because the new generation leaders of the NC appear to have been inclined to retain their ministerial post even if they have to forge unnatural friendship or say unholy alliances with a section of the UML and the Maoists. To put it in other words, the NC and the UML party is all set to surrender willingly. They have no other alternative left with them and time permitting the flexibility of these parties will be very close to force the President to apologize. I see things to move in this direction.
And when the President apologizes, it becomes necessary for him to resign from the current post. In that eventuality, Girija Prasad Koirala will be forwarded as the best candidate for the post of the new President.
As regards your second question, even if the Maoists don’t want to go in for a conflict yet some forces may have been encouraging the Maoists in order to fish in Nepal’s troubled waters. Those will do so who don’t want to see a prosperous Nepal. Had there been the absence of such an alien force then the Nepali wisdom would have prevailed and sorted out the current dispute.
TGQ2: Is it then that the current Maoist agitation is simply a tool to terrify the government or just a rumor? You have put the Maoists, the NC and the UML in one single basket? Why so? Your opinions please Mr. Rohit!
Comrade Rohit: No! NO! It is not that. They are just buying time for the real show. The period has been extended for yet another drama. They must have done so under some one’s instructions. If someone said to them, proceed! They will definitely proceed and abide by the instructions. To be in power, one has to do something or else each and every individual would have been in the government.
Yes! In the stable, the ships quarrel with each other all the time.
TGQ3: Isn’t it that the 12 point agreement made the NC and the UML to surrender because they have had to forge unity in order to sideline the then King? Coming down from the 12 point agreement till this day, which political party/parties you think to have remained dishonest? Your comments please.
Comrade Rohit: The parties did not have that much courage. This negotiation could have been done in Dhaka, Sri Lanka or even in Lhasa. Why they went to New Delhi? We had reminded and even warned the population then while making lectures that “we will soon witness the exit of the jackal from the front gate but will also observe the wolves entering from the back doors.”
It is not that the parties then did not understood the message what we aired then, however, things happened as it had to happen eventually.
The Maoists remains undeterred in its declared stance. No deviation in their policies so far has been noticed.
But the NC and the UML appear terrified by the Maoists hegemony and surrendering gradually to their diktats.
TGQ4: What is the real intention of the Indian establishment in Nepal? Also tell us as to how the country’s politics will proceed now? Should now we conclude that Nepal is a failed State? Your opinions please Mr. Rohit!
Comrade Rohit: We have open border with Hindustan-India. So are the strategic interests of our respective countries. Half of the water that is in Indian possession flows from our country-Nepal. By 2012 tentatively, we have to award the entire water resources to India under the cover of some treaties.
The pace with which the Indian population is expanding, naturally they need more water. This the other side knows well. They have their strategies and they act according to their set strategies. They naturally will look upon their country’s interests and so we too must look to our own prime interests.
At least the Maoists should have done something different (in favor of their own motherland-Nepal) than what the older parties did in the past. Unfortunately, the Maoists too have been toeing the same old patterns and traditional line.
Yes! The leaders have definitely failed. This is a proven fact now. No vision and no plans for the country. Great political changes were there in the country’s political spectrum, great dreams were aired for the consumption of the population. However, neither education, health nor the agri sector could see any tangible changes as promised then by the leaders. Nothing of that sort happened after the great political change.
This does tell that Nepali leaders have failed miserably but not the State.
TGQ5: The Maoists claim that they will force the current government to collapse through the effective use of their ongoing agitation. What say you Mr. Rohit? Your comments please.
Comrade Rohit: To force the government to resign is the right of the people through movement. Moreover, it is the normal procedure of the parliamentary system to make the government to exit from the parliament.
We waged a 19 day long agitation which did away with the Royal institution. But to fail the movement of the Maoists is the duty of the government. The government must address mass lectures, organize mass meets and tell the people that these were the benefits or say the accomplishments made so far that the government had managed in the name of the people. Concurrently, the government should criticize the Maoists.

I absolutely agree with Mr Rohit. Its too much. The drama should be end by now.The big parties sold their soul and surrendered to capitalists, imperialists, neo-colonists, revisionists, counter-revolutionists.
We still have hope in our hearts to go to socialist revolution. We need socialism, a progressive system just like Cuba and North Korea to bring a new society with economical equality to minimize extreme poverty.

Well views are right but whats the solution? We are deteriorating day by day in place of developing. Parties after getting people's support don't tend to develop the country instead they run for power and do anything for that. Grow up politicians "Do something for country also You all just have filled your pockets only".

Bijukchhe is telling true because our Nepali politial leaders need to blessing of Indian government and political parties of India that is why without pleased to them Nepali leader cannot enjoy the political power in Nepal. We will see our political leaders will handover the Nepali sovereignty over India as situation of Sikkim. That is why hardly Nepali politicians have patrotric manner. PN Shah was created this great Nepal our Nepali political leaders like Dhundhakari are destroying.
