Dinner Diplomacy, Nepal UML leaders hope unity will prevail

K.P. Sharma Oli, the United Marxist Leninists’ Party influential leader organized a lavish dinner reception at his personal residence, Kathmandu, in his bid to end the internal dispute plaguing his UML party of late.

The dinner was hosted on the occasion of the Chhat Festival.

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal, some of the party central committee members and UML cabinet members were also present at the dinner.

Mr. Oli and the Party Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal have been openly criticizing each other over party’s internal matters for some time in the past.

After the dinner, the leaders told that there was no issue of political or ideological disputes in the party any more.

The leaders also committed themselves to end the organizational dispute mainly adopting the policy of Janata Ko Bahudaliya Janawad and the mandate of the UML’s 8th General Assembly.

Only recently, Mr. Jhal Nath Khanal, the party chairman had organized a dinner at the Hotel Soaltee Crown Plaza wherein Mr. K.P. Sharma Oli and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal were invited.
