NC Maha Samiti meet to end Koirala Hegemony

TGW

The Nepali Congress Mahasamiti Meeting Preparation Committee held a meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.

The Preparation Committee meeting was presided by party coordinator Mr. Dhyan Govinda Ranjit and participated in by senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, acting President Sushil Koirala, vice presidents Ram Chandra Poudel, Gopal Man Shrestha and Prakash Man Singh, General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi and party spokesperson Mr. Arjun Nar Singh K.C.

The Mahasamiti Meeting and the forthcoming party’s general assembly are widely presumed to bring an end to the Girija Prasad Koirala hegemonic rule in the oldest democratic party of the country.

The meeting decided that the Mahasamiti meeting will be held at Pragya Pratisthan, Kamaladi, Kathmandu and various subcommittees would be formed to well organize the Mahasamiti Meeting.

Girija Prasad Koirala and his ilk had tried their best to postpone the Mahasamiti meeting.

Said Mr. Arjun Nar Singh K.C. that the Mahasamiti meeting will mull over the role of the incumbent party president, discuss the unfolding political events, the party’s future course and talk about the upcoming party’s 12th General Assembly.

High placed sources have told this website that the NC leaders expressed their anger over the elevation of Sujata Koirala to the country’s DPM post.

It appears that Koirala’s dictatorial rule in the Nepali Congress is soon to come to an end.
But is Koirala already a sinking horse?
