Deuba returns home, rules out Indian interference in Nepal?

TGW

In Surya Bahadur Thapa and Sher Bahadur Deuba’s persona, there are as much similarities as there are differences between the two Nepali politicos.

Both come from different political backgrounds.

Surya Bahadur Thapa, a highly successful political figure is a former pancha who had time and again acquired the post of the premiership in the country, albeit, with the blessings of the former Kings.

Deuba, a “made” democrat that he calls himself and people have been given to understand, too have been elevated as the country’s prime minister more than once.

What is their commonality then?

Both have time and again proved that they were more loyal to India than their country of birth.

What a striking similarity? Isn’t it?

Both, Deuba and Thapa also considered as loyal to the former Royal Palace of Nepal have freshly concluded their New Delhi pilgrimage.

Both, upon their arrival to their original motherland have defended their masters and mentors seated in New Delhi Durbar by ruling out that India has been the root cause for the perennial Nepali misery.

Deuba told the press men at the Tribhuwan International Airport that India will never interfere in Nepali politics though it would like to maintain some sort of relationship as far as political matters are concerned.

“I have never experienced Indian interference in Nepali politics”, said Deuba responding to a query posed by a journalist. The journalist had asked if India was behind the elevation of Sujata as the country’s Deputy Prime Minister.

Deuba is the one who provided the entire Mahakali River to India at a dirt cheap price.

Deuba returned home after completing his weeklong New Delhi pilgrimage, Saturday October 17, 2009.

Deuba said that India was pretty concerned by the unfolding political developments in Nepal.

Whether this Indian concern is due to the sudden increase in the Chinese influence in Nepal or something else, however, Deuba did not reveal.

He must have been told, hopefully, not to talk on these lines by his Delhi masters.

Deuba in essence repeated verbatim, like a parrot, of what Mr. Thapa had said upon his return home.

This is again yet another striking similarity.

“Indian wish is to see establishment of lasting peace in Nepal and a stable government”, Deuba added. This is just absurd.

“Continuation of the present government with the Maoists’ included is what India hopes from Nepal”, he also said.

Nevertheless, Deuba criticizing his own party boss, Girija Prasad Koirala also told the press men that father Koirala by elevating his daughter Sujata as the deputy prime minister of the country has made a wrong decision and that his acts (Koirala’s) had put the Nepali Congress party at risk.

“It is not that Sujata cannot become the deputy prime minister but it is highly objectionable that Koirala has initiated yet another brawl in the party”, said Deuba.

“I am pretty saddened by the move of Koirala”, he said.

Deuba while in New Delhi had met with Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh, Indian Congress Party Chairwoman Sonia Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee-Finance Minister, S.M. Krishna- Foreign Minister, Defense Minister A.K. Anthony and P. Chidambaram-Home Minister and main opposition leader Mr. Lal Krishna Advani.

Most importantly, Deuba also met with M. K. Narayanan, the Indian National Security advisor.

What was the purpose of meeting the National Security Advisor of India and what sort of information was exchanged during the meeting are not known? This is significant.

The Chinese infiltration in Nepali politics? Could be?

Interestingly, both Thapa and Deuba who received grand red carpet welcome in New Delhi met with the same set of Indian leadership including Narayanan.

“India is not involved in making and breaking of the governments in Nepal” Thapa had said upon his return home adding that, “India has not even thought of breaking the current government, they want unity and consensus in Nepal.” This is yet another joke!

Freshly, Pashupati Shumsher Rana, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman also performed the New Delhi pilgrimage and met some highly influential Indian politicos.

It is certain that Mr. Rana will also talk on the same lines. After all, a parrot will remain a parrot.

Is it really true that these 2 nepalwese leaders are so parrotlike? If, yes, God Bless Nepal as Inida has got not just Mahakali but all of Nepal at dirt cheap price.

These are not parrots. These are desh drohis. The empire of rome fell down because of desh drohis. Anyway, there is a typo or spelling error: "have deafened their masters." It should be defended*.
