The United Marxist Leninists’ Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal has said that the major political partners of the peace process must forge unity, consensus and build up understanding in order to draft the new constitution on time.
Mr. Khanal talked to journalists at the Tribhuwan International Airport, September 29, 2009 with his return home upon participating at an Assembly of Political Parties from the Asian continent in Tajikistan.
Mr. Khanal maintained that he was still confident that a common proposal could still be forwarded at the Constituent Assembly to end the current deadlock.
Mr. Khanal’s idea for Common proposal on behalf of the major three parties has been so far rejected by the Nepali Congress.
While urging the Maoists to stop heating up the streets and halting the Constituent Assembly proceedings, said Mr. Khanal that this was not the right time to resort to street protests instead union between the parties could lead to the required positive results.
He said that he was totally confident that the current political deadlock was nearing an amicable end soon.
By the way, the CA ongoing deadlock has not hampered the CA members to pocket their regular monthly salaries. Oh! These White Elephants.
No design to corner Maoists
