Venue shift: Hong Kong?

N. P. Upadhyaya

Kathmandu: Madhav Kumar Nepal-the elevated Nepal Prime Minister, must have been repenting recalling as to why he brought the Maoists to Kathmandu from New Delhi. Mr. Nepal quite frequently went to see Prachanda in Lucknow and Delhi some years back under a special design.

However, analysts see no fault in Mr. Nepal in having tried his best to bring in the jungle dwellers (but were they in the jungles?) to Kathmandu. In fact he did what he was told to do by his masters and mentors then residing in New Delhi.

Shree Shree Shree 113 Shyam Saran Ji Maharaj, then Indian Foreign Secretary, summoned the entire agitating Nepal’s seven parties to Delhi and made them all to sign a New Delhi Hindi draft of the most infamous 12 point agreement, November 22, 2005. The idea was to wear off Nepal from within through the subtle use of Nepali servants, let’s say political BAHADURS, as we the Nepalese are taken in India by the nationals of the former East India Company.

The compliant students of the Indian regime residing in Nepal unfortunately as legitimate Nepali nationals signed the 12 point agreement which was basically to up root the Nepal’s Royal Institution and many more.

The Indian regime then had concluded that the continued presence of Nepal’s Royal Institution in this Himalayan nation will never allow India a free ride in this country’s politics and thus the entire “game plan” was with intent structured to say good-bye to the Royal Institution.

India succeeded in its undertaking. The Nepali Royalty went to the Nagarjun Jungles on June 11, 2008. Analysts have been told that HE is enjoying in the jungles located nearby Kathmandu.

However, it is said that any step that is taken with ill intention can’t yield positive results. And this is what has happened with Delhi in that its plans to capture the entire State through the subtle use of its servants in Nepal’s political paraphernalia has bounced back to the extent that the Maoists, who were provided a lavish shelter and kept in NOIDA, Delhi, for as many as good eight years plus by the regime there, have now become a real burden for the regime itself.

“Destroy Nepal Expert”, S.D. Muni came here and met some Maoist leaders, however, analysts understand that he returned empty handed. Albeit, Dr. Babu ram Bhattarai listened to Muni’s lectures and instructions.

Analysts wish to tell the Indian regime that the Maoists’ have gone to the fold of Chinese establishment. What a poor Indian show that it is by all means. Those whom it groomed with hidden intent to gulp this nation time permitting have chosen to side with its number one enemy-China-as George Fernandez, the Indian Defense minister said of China some years ago.

The Chinese have already seduced the Nepal Maoists more so the hardliners inside the party that currently overwhelm the party of the ex-rebels.

The Maoist hardliners still see India as an expansionist Goliath in the South.

To bring the Nepal Maoists’ out from the firm grip of the Chinese will not that be an easy affair for  the coercive Indian regime. They have gone too far. The political drift is visible now.

Interestingly, one has to marvel at the courage and the inner intellect of Prachanda who spent some good eight years enjoying New Delhi’s hospitality but yet he remained loyal to the land of Mao-China.  This means that he was just kidding the Indian regime? Perhaps yes!

Prachanda in effect made a fool of the entire Indian establishment. The Indian regime must begin howling now as there is no other option left to it than what analysts here have said.

The fresh trip of Prachanda to Hong Kong is a obtrusive proof of the fact that Prachanda is a sharp-witted political persona and can’t be lured by the Indian establishment for free henceforth.

Prachanda now, understandably, playing the China card. No secret!

Basically Prachanda is in Hong Kong to see and have surreptitious parleys with some “Key” Chinese authorities.

Prachanda by this time around has already held secret talks with his Chinese friends who landed in Hong Kong a day ahead of Prachanda’s arrival there.

It is widely believed that the Chinese picked him up right from the Hong Kong airport.

If so then it is loaded with meaning. Yet another jolt to India.

However, what transpired in between the high level Beijing officials and Prachanda will take some time to come to the open yet political market analyst here guess that the talks must have concentrated on how to keep Nepal safe from the India’s dangerous game plans.

It is not for nothing that the Kathmandu based Chinese Ambassador just the other day assured Nepal that his country was ever ready to extend “any support” that Nepal may need in order to safeguard its territorial integrity.

China experts claim that until the Chinese get a trusted, reliable and a dependent partner in Nepal on a permanent basis, they will make the best use of the Nepal Maoists in order to safeguard their own political interests in Nepal that is abundant and is likely to increase astronomically in a few years time.

It is only a matter of years, opine China experts in Nepal.

To add insult to injury to the already wounded Indian establishment, the UML Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal just the other day arrived Kathmandu from his “secret” Hong Kong trip.

The people here have been given to understand that both Khanal and Prachanda were in Hong Kong to “train” their cadres residing in Hong Kong.

Both Mr. Khanal and Mr. Prachanda are taken as close friends of the Chinese establishment in the current political context. High placed sources opine that both Khanal and Prachanda are meeting or met with the same “KEY” Chinese officials. This adds political weight to the secret meeting.

Theirs making trips too Hong Kong well within a week time is loaded with political significance.

Why the both preferred Hong Kong instead of Delhi as usual? Is this the venue SHIFT? Could be, let’s presume for the moment.

If Khanal is being cornered by his own party colleagues for his having soft corner for the Maoists, then Prachanda is in search of a trusted friend in the neighborhood whose support he needs to teach a befitting lesson to the regime which made the fall of his government on May 4, 2009.

But the fact is that Prachanda resigned on his own.

Remarkably, both UML leader Khanal and Prachanda wish the incumbent government to crumble which may facilitate them both to form a suitable government on their own and lead the nation on dogmatic lines.

But how? Even if Mr. Khanal collects the courage to form such a new equation then he will first have to tear the party he currently heads now. Will he go to such a dangerous extent? This is a difficult question indeed.

However, what could be safely said that if pushed to the wall, then Mr. Khanal will have no other option left to split the party. Interestingly, he is being not only pushed but cornered as well. All that is waited is how Mr. Khanal retaliates. Khanal’s number one enemy in the party is K. P. Oli who apparently represents the Indian mindset inside the UML party.

Fortunately, Mr. Khanal is backed by Bam Dev Gautam, basically a UML leader but with Maoist heart and soul. Mr. Gautam is expert in making splits. He has this expertise. He has the distinction in tearing apart well functioning political parties even as he did with his own party some years back but joined the mother party unashamed.

As of China, it may too wish that the incumbent Indo-pendent government is replaced by a somewhat China friendly set up in Kathmandu. However, China’s “quiet” diplomacy remains intact but yet this time around the northern neighbor has begun ventilating its inner minds. Those who understand China better claim that Chinese influence in Nepal well within these two months have increased unimaginably. The more is to come, claim China experts who are close to Chinese embassy in Kathmandu.

In case if Prachanda and Khanal begin their plan to topple this government, in all likelihood, Girija Prasad Koirala too would extend his support to this new equation only on one condition that his daughter is elevated to the ranks of the DPM.

A power hunger old boy can sell the nation if someone assured that Sujata would be made DPM, either of an independent nation or that of a province of Indian union.

Remarkably, Koirala too now has begun seducing the Chinese. Very freshly, he met a jumbo delegation from China.

But will the Chinese trust Koirala? Forget it!

In all, the stage is thus set for a fierce confrontation. The Maoists have continuously been teasing the President, the prime Minister and other political leaders.

The government, analysts have been told, has kept the Nepal Army on high alert. An annoyed and irritated Nepal President is learnt to have tightened his belts to face any untoward eventuality that may grip this nation.

Tighten your belts please and watch the unfolding drama that could be a chaotic one if things prolong as it stands today.

Politics is likely to further deteriorate.

Nice article. I find it really amazing why nepali people still do not realize the indian design to replace monarchy in Nepal. This is the biggest news that is hidden from nepali people. And they were also instrumental in carrying out the royal massacre. It all fits in perfectly. But the Maoists, from day 1 blamed King Gyanendra. They used trickery and deception to achieve their goals. We as Nationalists Nepalis now must reclaim our monarchy destroy these Maoists hooligans. Wake Up Nepali brothers and sisters. Please realize the deceptions of the Maoists!

Indian influence is already all over Nepali politics. It will not be an easy task to free Nepal from Indian grip. The smartest strategy to free Nepal from Indian grip would be to focus in side-lining Indo-pedent Nepali leaders who are in forefront advocating and favoring Indian mal-intention in Nepal for the personal benefits, such as, GP Koirala and KP Oli. Then the existing trend in Nepali politics to present themselves to close to Delhi will start crumbling. If such happens in Nepal, that will be the beginning of the prosperity in Nepal.
