‘Katawal’s fresh bid to restore Nepal Monarchy’

TGW

The Janadisha Daily, the Maoists’ Party mouth Piece, has come up with a story, dated May 14, 2009, which reveals that the incumbent Chief of the Army Staff, Mr. Rukmangad Katawal has constituted various armed military outfits in the country in his bid to resurrect Monarchial institution in the country.

The report discloses that Mr. Katawal has on a personal basis constituted the armed outfit which numbers around two thousand armed men.

Katawal, enjoying support from the close aides of the former monarch Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah, former Nepal Army, Armed Police and General Police men has formed the military outfit under the command of Former Sub Inspector Hari Bahadur Timilsena, the report reveals.

The Armed Outfit since last November 2008 has been carrying out various regional armed activities to resurrect the now sidelined monarchy.

A letter sent on behalf of the organization to the former King of Nepal, Gyanendra Shah, dated January 4, 2009, claims that the military grouping was ready to take to any offensive for managing the grand comeback of the Royal institution.

The report says further that the letter was handed over to Mr. Rukmangad Katawal at Sashi Bhawan- private residence of Nepal Army Chief.

The military outfit is operating in various districts of Nepal, such as in the name of Chitwan Tiger in the district of Chitwan, Parasi Tiger in Nawalparasi district and Himali Tiger in Mid-Western region.

The Himali Tiger had exploded a bomb at the OHCHR office and Nepali congress party office in Nepalgunj, February 13, 2009, writes JanaDisha.

The outfits are being funded by former King Gyanendra, Nepal Army Chief Rukmangad Katawal and former Panchas, the paper further discloses.

Similarly, the armed outfit had sent a letter to former minister in the royal cabinet Mr. Kamal Thapa to extend financial support.
The Janadhisha further quotes a former member of the group as saying that the outfit has been carrying out frequent Army Trainings in the Sleshmantak Ban- close to Pashupati Nath Temple, under the direct supervision of Army Chief Katawal.

Changes going on in Nepal are indication for betterment.People are being more aware than before .They have come to realize their inborn instincts which was veiled being in cage of decades long dark era. Giving suggestions to others by nabbing their's throat is a lunatic way of dealing which get legitimacy only in lunatic asylum.

Rabindra, can't you see that it is a vicious cycle? It goes on and on as politicians are more interested in power than nationality. They will even harm the country in order to stay in power. If UML or NC comes to power, other political parties which did not get a share of the pie will still continue the same old story. It is a never ending saga. The only solution is dictatorship with nationality as the supreme agenda. The king together with the army can achieve this. For a country like ours, dictatorship is the solution. We need someone to rule with an iron fist. No politics should be allowed. All students who take part in politics in school should be shot. This is the only true solution we have. Rest are just time wasting formulas which will see NEpal as a failed state forever.

Violence will not solve the problem. Army & King are not the solution of the country. When the lower brass of the army & police are uneducated how can you trust them to provide security to ordinary citizens, Nepal's security force will only spill more blood if given the opportunity. People have to fight for their rights, that does not mean being violent. In this situation we need a true leader. Gyanendra was given a chance and the army also got their chance along with Gyanendra. Maoist were also given a chance, now it is clear that they are nothing but thugs. For now the only option is NC or UML with strong leadership, civil society must be vigilant and, ready come forward to fight for each every right.

I completely agree with Mr. Chankya. The interim constition was formed by 7 party alliance only so they didn't have any right to declare Nepal republic and secular state. Again during CA election no party except RPP(Nepal) had come up with Constitutional Monarchy and a Hindu State agenda while other parties they moved their hand towards burning fire (baleko ago tapney. Due to fear from Maoist general people have not raised their voice for COnstitutional Monarchy and Hindu state. The elected CA has also no right to under estimate this feelings. THe call for change from Monarchy to Republic and Hinduism to Secualr should be adrressed through Referrendum only. Wasn't their religious freedom when Nepal was a Hindu state? Had not we been repeatedly following great King Prithvi Narayan Shah's policy that Nepal is a garden of 4 jat and 36 barna.

Truly a maoist propoaganda! This shows how deep they can go into fooling Nepali people. After looking at the Prachanda's video can we believe any thing they say?? What a group they are to lead Nepal? They just throw rumors to further smoke innocent Nepalis. Maoists now Nepalese people know is summary is a group of thugs who claim themselves to be the best politicicians with the best poltical ideology, and in reality enjoy power with the force of threat on general Nepalese. They won the election spreading terror, they say they are fully democratic and still continue to hold the propoerties that belongs to other, spread terror, kill people and still claim that that is not the party policy, and keep on doing the same thing. Time has proved that they were not the people to be brought into mainstraem politics but arrest them using force and subject them to legal action up to life sentence for the crime they have committed in the country. We Nepalese should now undertsand that we mad emistake. On Monarchy, there may have been misuse of power by an individual but the institution is very much needed in Nepal. We feel the vacuum now. It was much better with the monrachy than with these thugs driving the country in no direction!! Rukmangad was Hero in Nepal's history who saved country from these bunch of thugs. The video of Prachanda very much opens our eyes whatever Rukmangad did was good for the country. Prachnada says that. Maoists: behave as civilized humans; you still have time to improve yourself.

This is the best news i have ever read. Good on you Katawal. I will salute you if you can help regain the lost glory of our motherland. We want it back at any cost. There should be no compromise with Hindu Kingdom. That has become our identity. Chankya you are right there. Maoists used trickery to uproot monarchy. MAoists played with identity of Nepal. This really is a good news. Thanks

The concerning persons have no work that is why they are blaming to ex-king.Such kind of news is totally wrong. But one thing is sure still majority of people have great faith over monarchical institution.Ex-king is still behalf of Nepali people that is why he transfered his power without any blood bath. Any way we need cultural and religious monarchical institution. I believe Girija Babu was telling we need baby king, that word he could act in Nepal. Girija Babu is a great personality at the end of his journey he will fulfil his word.

i simply know that all we have done a great unjustice to the monarchy of nepal.we forgot their past glory and contribution.nepalese have lost history,we can not feel proud on our independence because all are related with that monarchy.we are calling "we nepali" again because of monarchy then why we tunned that much ungrateful to them.we may not like one person ,ok,let us change that man.we may not like the power to king-ok,let us make him powerless.but but why we are being a human without head?this i do not undestand?our brothers maoist when you have started war that time removal of monarchy was not your agenda?and why you make also?that time king was just a titular head, and the country was being run by the political leaders?think where is his fault?what he did? and what we did to that institution?when you found time is in your control then you just turned back to him and fire.is it not truth?all we know.now, after his removal so many years passed and we are experiencing only humiliation ,dearth and dying even for very very essentialsitems?you also have seen nepal is in list of failed states?it all gives a great pain for we people and you are just enjoying power.are you only for power?for a moment let us see how in a dignified way the king left power to the people?whole worl was surprised and saying wah this a great example of love to the country and the people becaue all were expexcting a great massacre,is it not?you know better, just think how much you were prepared to reply that imaginary event.all these suggest my dear maoist brothers-all were good only one thing was missing- a control from the people.let us make that and bring the monarch also under costitution and keep him powerless.and then if he makes mistakes then people will say 'wrong'. this is is best way to keep our motherland on right track with dignity, cultural idintity, independance, self respect.otherwise we will weep in the name of our motherland living in tent in other country,be careful and do not let the time go out of hands.why we are doing that much bad for our next generation, when they will ask about their rights then what we reply?because of our personal ambitiom we altered your all idintitis my children?they will curse-still we can learn from palistine.i pray god grant wisedom to all of us and we solve this problem.jai nepal mata.
