Mr. Rishav, your first comment on this article is "Well the director is not actually wrong and shouldn't have had to appologise" and now your words are "Yes probably the best way to describe Buddha's birth place,is in LUMBINI", not probably it is absolute truth Mr. Rishav and you still think director of that film did not make any mistake ? You are contradicting yourself, now accept the director's mistake and accept your mistake for writting "Well the director is not actually wrong and shouldn't have had to appologise".
I didn't really talk about Lumbini. Yes probably the best way to describe Buddha's birth place,is in LUMBINI, IN PRESENT DAY NEPAL. Not suggesting Buddha was Nepali now, as we established Nepal did not exist in those days, which was the original point mentioned.
This probably is the same as saying Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, residing in present day West Bank of Palestinian National Authority. Doesn't make him a Palestinian from the West Bank.
Dream??? Bharat basa did not exist. It was not used as a way to describe people who lived in what we now call the present day Indian subcontinent. Mahabharata, as a title of a story spoken by people before Buddha doesn't hint on anything to you.
Ok as we all want to get factual, as 200 years years is important i agree. He was born 563 BCE, which would make him born APPROXIMATELY 2572 years ago, for the buffins. Source : just check google if anyone can be bothered. Lol!!
What do you mean by YOU PEOPLE???!!! Not very polite. Never presume anything.
Only places- Kathmandu and Patna- such events are important than any other in planet take precedent on all the problems. Reason is these are the places has more idiot than anywhere in this planet. Dear friends, read following on going news.
Slum dwellers in Bihar's capital continued to protest Monday against Oscar-nominated film 'Slumdog Millionaire', demanding the film's makers remove the word dog from the title.
Earlier, anti- India protest erupted in the streets of Kathmandu over a scene in the movie mentioning that Lord Buddha was born in India.
Demonstrators, in Kathmandu burnt tiers and wrapped street dogs with the Indian flag---as a mark of protest.
Nepal government had imposed a ban order on this movie after the protests intensified. My inquiry to Mr. Mahara, is this Bihari politics or Nepali politics?
Mr.Rishav, Concept and reality are not same things. Concept is a dream and anybody can dream anything. On the basis of dream you are writing your comments?? For your information Buddha was born 2500+ years before, not 2300+, and 200 years is a long time. Any one can easily judge the intelectual level of you people.
Mr Rishav,
If there was no India at that time then how can you say Buddha was born in Indai you should just say Buddha was born in Lumbini.
The concept of Bharat, was there even in those times. Even with separate kingdoms, the people and kings shared similar cultural practices, languages and understanding. The separation of kingdoms was merely on territorial grounds rather than any other possible cultural difference. Hence even before Buddha the story of "Mahabharata," kind of exemplifies this with small kingdoms grouping together under a common cause. After Buddha and Alexander, Chandragupta Moriah would attempt to unify Bharat. Similariy PN shah attempt to unify Nepal with its small kingdoms with variable cultural differences and practices betweem them.
Mr. Rishav was there any BHARAT either at taht time? If not why they said Buddha was born in BHARAT ? By the way, this is not the first time the Indians have insulted Nepal and Nepalese. How will you qualify your country men for repeating same mistakes ? Either they have no intelectual level is zero or they are arrogant.
Well the director is not actually wrong and shouldn't have had to appologise. Correct me anyone if i am wrong. But when Buddha was born there was no such thing as Nepal some 2300+ years ago. There were many little kingdoms constituting an overall Bharat at that time. So he is not wrong as such, but it is nice of him to apologise inorder to harbour good feelings between Nepal and India in such perilous times.
i am a nepali living in india. currently in kathmandu.
look friends, when the director has himself apologised so this case must be dropped. after all indians are our borthers. i hope no damaging comments further.
dhanyabad.
good indian. thanks. our relations are made bad but is not that bad.
thanks
when the director has apologised the chapter must be closed. i will suggest all. thanks mr. director.
It is good to appolize and we do not think so big thing. But frequently international media also telling Buddha was born in India. That is why authentic news is still missing whether develop or developing countries. That is why we should carefully thing about sensative things. We do not make further disturbances about this issue. In this way we Nepali should conscious and do our work without intervain to our neighbour countries or others. Our political actors should stay in one place about national issue. But in our Nepal, they are always look like dog and cat, that is why it is sometime making a disaster and so on.
"Indian movie director apologizes". Mr Editor sir, how many Indians use such abusive laanguage and apologized so far ? It is like our PM Dahal. his thugs kep on killing people and he keeps on saying I am sorry". People keep on repeating same mistakes are just stupids.

No thats not at all, what I am saying. NO CONTRADICTION, FRIEND. BUT HEY, i can't be bothered to explain myself if you have failed to understand the argument which is BHARAT/INDIA/HINDUSTSAN was a general term to describe the the Indian subcontinent in the times of Buddha and before him. What's this Mr.... simple Rishav would suffice. I know journalists have ways of changing people's words inorder to fit there own purposes, don't try this with me if you have failed to understand a view point or have difficulty in accpeting it.
