Telegraph enters Silver Jubilee year!
How the days, weeks, months and years slipped out of our hands, we ourselves fail to understand. However, the fact is that this did happen and that too with us.
A small publication that saw the first light of the sun during the first quarter of 1984, February to be precise, stands now as a comparatively matured, fully grown and internationally recognized venture.
Though we do not boast that we cover the entire globe, however, what we can claim is that the Telegraph Weekly with its own website since February 20 last year has its valued readers around the globe which perhaps stretches from
It is not that we have had an easy travel for all along these past 25 years. It was rough, tough and frightening as well. Financial temptation from different quarters too were there. However, we did not yield. So many seen and unseen factors both within and without tried their best to bring about a premature death of this paper, however, they failed because the team we possess at the moment is a dedicated and energetic one which would prefer to embrace death penalty rather than bowing to dictates emanating both from within and without. We boldly admit that we in the process of coming down to this Silver Jubilee issue of this paper have not compromised our national interests. We firmly say today that we will continue to serve the nation and would rebuke any attempts that are against our territorial integrity and sovereignty. We have a sense of honor that we were never a colonized nation. Keeping this glory in mind, we will continue to proceed ahead in the days come what may.
In the process of 25 years of our existence, we have had so many friendly enemies, both from within and without. We convinced them as to why we become rough and tough as and when our territorial integrity is being challenged by some alien quarters. Some former enemies have got the point and have begun appreciating our love and honor for a land which gave birth to those who currently comprise the team of this paper. The last battle we are yet to fight with our own nationals who are under the payroll of some alien nation. It is this group of anti-nationals who have been passing secrets to some countries. Time permitting we will publish their names as well which is in our possession.
If our national interests are not minimized or challenged by any alien quarter, we will exhibit our friendly behaviour towards that particular group or for that matter the countries. However, if it is otherwise, we will chase the group or the country engaged in “teasing” the entire Nepali nation ad infinitum. Take it for granted.
We will continue to honor the international community for their kind support. We will in the process would wish to continue to expand our friendly ties with those countries as it exists at the moment. Our special focus would be to strengthen our official relations with the countries in the SAARC regional body. We will continue to explore new avenues of friendship with the countries not in our neighborhood. Our focus would be to enhance our relations with the countries in the European Union and also to expand our relations with the NORDIC countries.
In saying so, we do not seek any personal or for that matter official advantage for this paper. We have nothing to ask from these highly developed countries except good and trustworthy relationship with our country-Nepal. We wish to thank those far flung countries who wish to see a prosperous and politically stable
Now a word to the readers. It is this set of academicians, intellectuals, diplomats, decision maker, policy makers and the likes who have encouraged us all along the past 25 years. We wish your love and honor for this paper to remain intact. In lieu, we promise to go more academic in order to satisfy your lust for reading quality articles. This is our promise.
Finally, the readers of this paper on the website too deserve our deep appreciation. Because of this international readership, our ranks have been elevated to an unimaginable extent. We at this paper had not calculated then that within a short span of one year (February 20 to be precise) that our website would attain such heights. Roughly, we stand at 5 million plus visitors within one year. Perhaps the figure itself says as to how much our website has been read by our known and unknown friends. Accept our heartfelt thanks for your gracious attention towards this modest paper.
Now a few words for the advertisers. Well, we wish to thank those who have offered us with their advertisements which has helped us to sustain this paper. However, this should not mean that we do not care for those business houses who have so far not provided their attention towards this weekly. We thank them as well. After all, they are our valued readers.
Finally, the energetic and uncompromising team of the paper also deserves a grand salute from the chief editor/publisher for their uninterrupted support in bringing out the issue on a regular basis each week.
We salute you all dear friends. We need your encouragement.

congratulations for the job your paper is doing hope you will enhance your image in future too.On this day i would like to submit one request.Nepal is unable to move an inch because of rampant 'corruption'prevailing in the country. We keep hearing about crruptions everyday but we don't hear about the actions taken ! I WOULD REQUEST your esteem paper to fulfil this requirement.A sincere follow up action is the need of the hour;otherwise no need of publishing such news in futue, this happens only in nepal! WHAT AN IRONY.
