It was 28th of May 2012, I was in morning walk, a voice stroke in my ear '' Oh my god! Really! Leaders could not finalize the constitution? Oh very bad. I will never pardon them''. This was the voice of one young guy; he was with his three other colleagues. Other one added, '' Nepalese people will never excuse them. In real sense of the term, they are not leaders, their performance is very poor than ordinary people.'' As per their conversation, they were waiting the result of 27th May 2012. Their plan was to go outside the country for study as well for a job; but their parents were asked them to wait until the date to the issuance of the new constitution; since if the new constitution would be declared in time, the economic activities would be enlarged and enriched; law and order would be improved; the motion of economic development and prosperity would be geared up and the educational institutions would be able to complete the curriculum and course on time and the result will be declared in due time as education calendar declared. On same day, afternoon, a sincere and dedicated entrepreneur who is running an industry dialed and numbers of ring was recorded in my cell phone; after completion of my work I called him back. But I could not get a time to put single word, very quickly he did burst '' Oh! Doctor you go all in hell, you all intellectuals and politicians are same, nothing different; why you intellectuals are not educating and pursuing these all politicians? All politicians are the birds having same feathers. Why you all are being greedy and selfish? All things have gone; you will see there will be no peace, no law and order.'' The person he called me was very upset. He continued, ''My industry is running under-capacity, I do not understand whether labor unions working for political parties or for their own family; every day they raise new issues; leaders of political parties are provoking them rather than solving the problem. Only lip service by political leaders does not help to make constitution as well as run our businesses as the requirement of the market and needs of the consumers as per their capacity of their wallet and income. At time of country being declared as republic we were also equally pleased and excited. But this time we are not feeling difference between the republic Nepal and Nepal with monarchy. Relatively the social, political and economic situation is becoming more vulnerable and disordered. The question is that what people expected and what they were handed over? Change only in the leadership, Mr. X and Y instead of Mr. Gyanendra is not the republican goal.'' He was bursting non-stop. Finally, slowly I interrupted him and put my voice, ''My dear friend you are hundred percent correct; I agree with your explanations. We are equally serious and anxious for the socio-economic and political democratization of the country. In reality Nepalese people are very accommodative in nature, so they are waiting with great patience for the strong leadership of political parties and strengthening of the Loktantra (Democracy). But the political parties on whom the whole country is expecting are not exhibiting such kind of farsighted vision. Another call was from an intellectual. Suddenly the person started to speak and continued that after the dissolution of CA political parties are unable to lead and harmonize political agenda. This inability has raised the questions about the capability and sincerity of the political parties. In addition the ruling party and Prime Minister delivering the ambiguous views concluding that they are in government but the Satta (authority or sovereignty?) is not in their hand. What it does mean? Does he or Mr. Prime Minister want to be an authoritarian? But if the current impasse lingers on indefinitely resulting in an anarchic situation and breakdown of law and order continues, nobody can prevent the country from unexpected authoritarian rule and nobody can imagine what kind of anarchy will take place in the political vacuum. In the mean time the call disconnected. Still I was not free from the call and I received a mild voice and it was from my native village. It was the voice of a farmer and in search of quality agriculture inputs including fertilizer and seed and water in the canal. The farmer was not demanding all these free of cost. He/she was ready to pay price; only looking for quality goods and service in right time. Similarly, the villager asked for reasonable price for their products and elimination of undue and unnecessary parasitic trends in the market chain. Another dial was from a fixed salary holder who was astonishing about the statement (bluff) of double digit growth expressed haphazardly by the chair holders which never could get translated into results. Against this one thing has been achieved in double digit and it is artificial price inflation and unusual hiking of price of necessary commodities and services. At midnight, I was out of sleep; my eyes and mind both were in a tensed state. I reconciled all calls and questions and concluded that all these are the net result of the leadership crisis which has no clarity about the socio-economic and political destination of the country. Leaders failed to show their visionary behavior and for whole time worked for short term tips and tags of power and perks. So this time it is the right moment to search a visionary political leadership that will be able to rescue the country from socio-economic and political disaster that is very close to our fate and future.
