Nepali Congress Cabinet ministers acting irresponsibly: Dr. Shekhar

I do not still take Prime Minister Sushil Koirala as an all out failure as far as constitution drafting process is concerned. Future will determine whether he fails in this task or not. But, so far as the matters related to efficiently running the government is concerned he is lagging behind considerably.

The Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala adds: The government is headed by Sushil Koirala. And, there are ten ministers in his cabinet representing the Nepali Congress. The feedback we are receiving is not good.

“That he has failed to control them is not an exact conclusion. Rather, I personally feel that they are acting irresponsibly.”

“The Prime Minister himself publicly acknowledges that the cabinet members are involved in corruption. Thus, I feel that it is his personal weakness for having failed to take them to task.”

“It was just the other day he himself accepted that he has not been able to meet the expectations. Merely apologizing for his failures is not going to work. The situation of the country is such that no one can deliver.”

Notwithstanding, Shekhar also claims that there is no possibility of change in government.

“Take it for granted, there will be no change in government.”

“I am certain that not even the United Marxist Leninist wants change in government. I can see that both KP Oli and Sushil Koirala stand firm on their one point objective to promulgate the constitution.”

When asked by veteran journalist Rishi Dhamala if politics will take a new turn following show of strength by opposition parties on 28 February, replies Koirala, “I also think that it will be a measure of their strength. Thus, it will determine the future course. Having said that, there is no alternative to consensus between the major parties.”

“The proposal for formation of national unity government by Pushpa Kamal Dahal is only possible if parties amicably settle their differences on issues related to consiution drafting,” declared Koirala.

Carrot and stick both.

  • Congress ministers are involved in petty interest for example appointment of secretary they bypass the qualified to be secretary candidate and they appointed the junior candidate for secretary. In this way immediately 10 ministers in congress part should replace the new faces otherwise Koirala would be one of the weakest PM of Nepal ever. That is only example but they are qualified but involved in natabad kripabad and so on.For new constitution drafting should be provision like Dalit Janajati children should get free higher education and they should get certain allowance to survive but way of decentralization of power not to federal state concept. The main idea is to help to backward people. Now federal states cost could utilize for needy people. In this present situation people need lodging feeding and education facility. When political people could work without salary if they are really helping to people. but politics is now earning money juction thinking by most of political leaders. Now new energy of politics is needed in Nepal Aadami party like Delhi.
