Nepal: Dahal favors election, could be a fresh ploy to dupe parties

Telegraph Nepal

“What new stuff have you brought today,” Sushil asked while welcoming Chairman Pushpa Kamal of Unified Maoists Party at a tea party organized by Nepali Congress on the occasion of Dashain, Chhat and Bakar Eid Festival, October 29, 2012.

Unusual question but associated with pinching joke.

Seven years long hobnobbing with Pushpa Kamal, Sushil otherwise a modest-dull political actor, too has become intelligent, critics comment.

Long association advantage.

Pat replied Pushpa Kamal, “I no longer have the proposal for the revival of Constituent Assembly. Let us agree on election and form a national unity government.”

Must have been yet another Dahal intrigue.

Whether the Unified Maoists Chief was in a joking mood while talking to Sushil only time will tell, critics further comment.

He added later talking to the press, “We are presently holding serious talks (with no result). I am hopeful we will reach to consensus after Tihar Festivals. We are also in favor of election. The country will head into that direction.”

After Tihar, it would be Chhath festival. Time buying exercise and making fool of the population.

He thus changed his line once again!

Sushil also talked to the media and briefed that Pushpa Kamal during their talks at the party presented himself being in favor of election. Surprise!

Has he met a New Delhi mandarin in between? What about the much talked western influence?

The EU favors revival of the CA body. Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Poudel subscribe to EU views.

“I asked him if he has something new today. He replied that he is also in favor of election. The proposals for CA revival and election under the leadership of Unified Maoists Party have become outdated,” Sushil told the media.

Jhal Nath of United Marxist Leninist threatened that street protest will bring the Maoists back to streets if they do not quit the government.

Devi Prasad Regmi must have smiled back in Sunsari.

Mohan Baidya of NCP-Maoist said that his party will extend its full support if the NC & UML take to the streets.

Interestingly, none of the NC leaders talked about late BP Koirala's contribution who had initiated this Tea reception some decades ago. NC is decaying fast, analysts presume.
