Nepal: NC prefers Coup with Prez support, claims Pokhrel

“Fresh activities of President Ram Baran Yadav are enough to reflect upon future of the country if Nepali Congress is allowed to lead the government”.

“The Nepali Congress is conspiring to stage a coup with the direct support of the President. Thus NC should not be allowed to lead the government’, said Unified Maoists’ Leader Giriraj Mani Pokharel addressing a Press Meet organized by Purbanchal Sanchar Club in Itahari, Sunsari October 17, 2012.

Pokharel is the eastern region in-charge of the Unified Maoists Party.

“The country will fall into unprecedented crisis if Prime Minister Baburam resigns at this juncture,” he claimed and added, “I personally believe that the Prime Minister should continue to serve the country.”

What a joke!

In the course of his speech, the Maoist leader urged supporters of the federal order to unite. “The anti-federal elements are getting stronger. If we fail to preserve federalism we will also lose the republican order. There is thus no option for us to unite. Federalism is meant to empower the grass root. Strong grass root means strong nationalism.”

Nationalism redefined.
