“I sincerely suggest the United Marxist Leninist Party to surrender its’ so-called communist ideology in letter and spirit and openly accept a democratic posture. The UML should remove the hammer and sickle logo from its flag and insert something that provides the party with a democratic image”, said Dr. Sashank Koirala and added, “I am ready to be a UML member.”
Dr. Koirala is the youngest son of Late B.P. Koirala. B.P. needs no introduction.
“The communists have been limited in the pages of history simply because they can’t be democratic,” he added.
“Whenever they get opportunity to travel around they call themselves socialists. Locally they call themselves communists,” criticizing the UML said Sashank and continued, “This is their double standard.”
“There is only one party in Nepal that is totally democratic, socialist and nationalist and that is the Nepali Congress.”
But what about internal democracy Dr. Koirala within your own party?
Junior Koirala made these remarks while addressing a program in Bhaktapur, October 14, 2012.
A medical practitioner by profession said Koirala, “I have joined politics to transform our society. I would have stuck to my profession had I wanted money and position,” he clarified.
Talked logic.
