Nepal: PM’s consort Hisila runs a parallel government, media claims

Telegraph Nepal

Prime Minister Baburam’s wife Hisila Yami-the Great, reports has once again begun that she has been pressurizing the board of directors of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) to appoint her sister, Timila Yami, yet another Great, as the chairman of the KUKL board.

People’s War takes a full turn.

Mrs. Hisila Yami is taken as de facto Prime Minister of the country.  The JNU tricks!

Whereas Baburam happens to be the Prime Minister of the country who is already labeled as ‘anti-national’ for committing repeated crimes against the country of his own birth by his own former buddies, media reports confirm Baburam’s wife Hisila, on the other hand is using ‘state power’ to forcefully make appointments at various government agencies.

New unconstitutional center?

Confirmed reports published by Kantipur National Daily and Nagarik National Daily, reveal that Hisila is using her position to appoint her elder sister Ms. Timila Yami as the Chairman of beleaguered and corruption ridden Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL).

Hisila’s detractors even claim that she is running a parallel government by being right inside the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluatar. Charismatic end result of People’s War!

To recall, father of Hisila and Timila, Late Dharma Ratna Yami-Tuladhar used to be the food minister in the cabinet of Late Matrika Prasad Koirala in the year 1951. Late Yami was nominated to the Rastriya Panchayat (legislature) in 1962 by King Mahendra. Father Yami was very close to the Indian establishment.

To recall, in the capacity of the minister for Physical Planning and Works in the year 2007, Hisila had appointed Timila as one of the directors of the KUKL.

Madame Hisila, according to Kantipur daily, is pressurizing Kishor Thapa of Ministry of Urban Development and Secretary Shital Babu Regmi of Ministry of Local Development to appoint her “illustrious” sister as the board chairman of KuKL.

To recall, Hisila has already succeeded in appointing Mrs. Kayo Devi Yami, one of her sisters, as the executive director of Public Service Commission.

Hisila must have countless sisters, analysts guess.

  • This is the height of the corruption from so called revolutionary peoples prime minister and her wife.this is not the question of Newar or bahun, please rise up the narrow mind and communal thinking, its about betrayal to the all Nepali and those killed on the false name of the people's war. Don forget we are all Nepali . People wanted a different prime minister than corrupt congress like giriza and sujata terror, what's the change if hisila and baburam company defeats all of them. But I am sure the time is coming soon that people will kill all these deshdrohi so called Maoists , only a matter of time. Enough is enough.

  • @ Jason; In your write up it looks like you are trying to justify a crime with other crime. But crime is crime. It can not be justified and that also with other crime it sound silly and ridiculous. Your whole sole logic in your comment is hatred toward esp bahuns and you claim if they have done nepotism, red tapism you wish to do more of that and win their record too. What a logic? What a reasoning man? From the reader perspective what different do we see in you than all than bahuns? It looks from your comment that bahuns are better than you. Because you too wish to do a crime just because bahuns did it. Lord save you and our nation.

  • IF Sujata and the hundreds of Bahuns can perpetuate unprecedented level of corruption on Mother Nepal through nepotism, red tapism etc why cant Hisila appoint a qualified person to such posts? So what if it is his sister? Did not Girija and all the other Bahun leaders do the same thing. When Thousand Bahuns corrupt the country it is a joke , but when a newar gets popular in politics it hurts Bahuns ass a lot! Dharma Ratna Yami was a good person and untainted person. The writer is being communal by writing Tuladhar in the bracket. It is now clear that it is Bahuns versus the rest of the country. The stupid chettris can join them if they want.

  • @ Jason: Do you know that more than the bahuns, Newars were and are the most priveledge bunch of people in Nepal. They happened to be in Capital city and around Shahs and Rana by the virtue of which they could rise to most lucrative high administrative and bureocratic position as a result of which their clan became the most Educated, literate lot of the country and even Jyapu who has a small bit of land became very wealthy due to high land price of Kathmandu. They did sort of a chota raj and ruled nepal under shah and ranas. Now when other people started to come to kathmandu now you fear them of lossing this priviledge and like a mad dog bark bahuns. Can you tell us what percentage of bahun are wealthy and elite and are unlike other caste in term of wealth and education. They are sharing the same underpriviledge fate like other caste. So please talk about humanity and not the race ok. Almost all bahuns a high percent say 99% are struggling to survive like others. So why do you only bark without facts and figure. You newars are the most lucky and priviledge lot of nepal and not the bahun. So dont be jealous and bark what ever comes to your ugly head

  • I would just urge everyone to look at the resume of the people involved in this case. While other parties engaged in nepotism and put matric class 3rd year students to the bog posts this sister of Hisila happens to have A PhD degree 20 years ago, manages a successful company and was even the board member of KUKL in a time when the Maoists were still in the Jungle. She succeded inspite of her sister being an outlaw. If there was justice on Nepal she had the qualification and ability to be head of not only KUKL but of any other agency. Also her sister Kayo mentioned here got a PhD 20 years ago when she was just 23 years old. LOOk at the resume of these people and other people appointed by other parties before you start questioning anything.
