Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Lokendra Bahadur Chand believes that passage out from present political deadlock is in the hands of the political parties.
Talking to media men in the district of Banke, October 1, 2012 Chand said, “I think that as the largest party in the former Constituent Assembly and being the party leading the government it is the responsibility of the Unified Maoists Party to take rest of the political parties into confidence.”
“I urge Prime Minister Baburam not to block the process of consensus. His idea to continue to stick in the chair is harmful to politics in general and the country in particular” said the senior leader.
“My party will not object to any alternative, revival of constituent assembly or election if parties unite to resolve disputes”, he added.
When asked if there lay any possibility of presidential takeover, Chand denied that such possibilities exist however, he added, “There is always a limit. After all deadlock cannot continue for long”.
