Nepal: Prez threatened; no illegal steps be tolerated says Sapkota

Telegraph Nepal

The spokesperson of Unified Maoists Party Agni Sapkota has threatened ‘violent confrontation’ if President Ram Baran takes unconstitutional move to unseat present government led by Baburam.

Stern warning in series. The President must have trembled from within.

Addressing a regular press meet at the party headquarters, Sunday September 30, 2012, also said Sapkota, “Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist want to use President as their tool”.

“The Nepali Congress and UML are pushing the country towards serious confrontation by encouraging the president. Yet our party is searching for solution in a package.”

“Handing over charges of the government to Nepali Congress would be harmful until parties hold consensus over core constitutional issues”, he opined.

“Basically, the two parties do not want to draft the new constitution. They want to revive the 1990 Constitution with President instead of King and Republic in place of a monarchy.”
