Nepal: Unifier King Prithvi and Tribhuwan national heroes, claims P. Rana

Telegraph Nepal

Chairman Pashupati Shumser Rana of Rastriya Prajatantra Party too demanded referendum to revise the decision which declared the country going secular.

Understandably, Rana who is taken as one of the strongest pillars of the republican order along with his partner Surya B. Thapa, kept mum over the decision to declare the country republic.

Poor Nepali leaders.

P. Rana was addressing a program in Parbat district, September 26, 2012.

Rana who shares familial ties with India’s former royalties (the Scindia family and now with Arjun Singh) however, claimed that the state of Nepali nationalism stands weakest in the entire history of the country.

So Mr. Rana too has awakened from deep slumber. Not bad for Nepal’s political health. Better late than never.

He also claimed that Nepal’s Unifier King Prithivi Narayan Shah and King Tribhuwan-who renounced the throne for the sake of democracy in the country, were the national heroes of unified Nepal.

Nostalgia.

Serving stern warning to Prime Minister Baburam Rana said, “Either he should resign voluntarily or will be ‘kicked’ (ghokre-thyak) out of office through the people’s protest.

Addressing at the same program, senior RPP leader Buddhi Man Tamang criticized major parties for creating disruptions during the religious trip of former King Gyanendra Shah.

“It is sheer stupidity to claim that while he embarks on the religious tips the republican is threatened”, so said Tamang.

Decades long connection counts.

  • It's so sad to read and hear that Ram Baran Yadav pleads with lowly staff at Indian embassy to get his friends, relatives and his kind admitted to schools in India even with low percentile. It just shows class of people but by doing he is discrediting Nepal. Pretender. It's a shame. I am kinda getting tired of this kind to even raise a issue for they are not worth a word or paper

  • There must be referendum on both Monarchy and secularism for peace in Nepal. Also the day will come for these politico-terrorists to be hanged in tudikhel one by one.

  • Was under the impression that Mr Rana was a strategic politician but alas turns out to be just a tactician that arrives at decisions too late! As we say in Great Britian he is advised to, for his own political future, to call for the FULL MONTY - and not just a referendum on secularism
