Nepal: Maoist party is a group of people sans philosophy, claims Oli

Telegraph Nepal

“We got rid of dictatorial Rana and Panchayat regimes”, said KP Sharma Oli of United Marxist Leninist Party and he asked, “What is the need to retain this feeble regime?”

“Aringal Khayoun, Bachiyou Khayou…tara ahile yo jhuse birulo kina baki rakheka choun?”

Such talks are free in a democracy like ours specially.

Oli did not however, criticize ‘despotic institution of monarchy’ that the revolutionary political parties got rid of through great sacrifices? He rarely criticizes the institution of monarchy. The fact is that he was with King Gyanendra then. Moreover, he did not go to Delhi to sign the 12 point Nepal-India Treaty, November 22, 2005.

The Unified Maoists Party is in fact a group of people who do not have any philosophy and ethics, Oli continued.

“Marxism does not advocate the formation of states with unique identity. In fact, Maoists’ ideals are catastrophic for the country.”

“The UML cannot remain as a mere spectator while looters are on rampage in the country”, he concluded.

  • Every party is a gp of people so is UML. Oliji I think Nepal does not require too much of philosophy beyond apprehension of common man. Philosophy at this moment should be "GARIB-oriented" activities to improve their standard of living ie 2-square meals to everybody.
