Nepal: PM Bhattarai prevails, Nepali Congress falls flat

The Unified Maoists Party organized a press meet at the party headquarters in Kathmandu, September 19, 2012.

Agni Sapkota-the party spokesperson declared that the party remains firm on its line to allow party vice chairman and incumbent Prime Minister Baburam to also lead the next election government.

“We were of the view that had parties been successful to resolve constitutional issues we would have accepted Nepali Congress government now with that possibility being over, we want Baburam  Bhattarai to lead the next election government as well”, he declared.

 “Parties mainly failed to resolve constitutional issues because they had Himalayan differences over issues related to federalism and state restructuring. Thus there was no other option than to accept another round of CA election.”

To add, Prime Minister’s aide Devendra Poudel ‘Sunil’ as reported by Nagarik National Daily claims that the parties have already provided their clear nod to give continuity to present government led by Baburam Bhattarai.

Sunil claims, “The parties today agreed to transform present government led by Baburam ji into a national unity government”.

NC is the loser and will continue to lose more in the days ahead,

  • dhundukari, rakches bhanne suneko thiyee, yestai baburam prachanda jastai huda hun......They have taken the country to the point of no return. Nepal totally ruined with these devils, evil, dhundukaris....
