Nepal: Prez Role useful to get rid of current mess, says Ishwar Pokhrel

Telegraph Nepal

The United Marxist Leninist Party General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel while addressing a press meet in Palpa, September 13, 2012, claimed that fault on the part of the UML and Nepali Congress was knowingly to ignore Maoists real intent.

“We have failed to react on time to the Maoists misdeeds as we were already aware of their real intent. This is our fault,” he said.

“The Maoists are well on their course to totally capture the state. Our failure was to timely react to the Maoists’ acts”, he also said. Delayed realization yet not bad.

“The Maoists need to quit the government and pave way for consensus. This is the only possible way out from the present political deadlock”, said Pokharel.

“Though we are not in favor of an active president yet we see that the president could play a constructive role to end this impasse”, he concluded.
