Nepal: Prez must follow Government decisions claims Pokhrel

Telegraph Nepal

Staunch republican leader Pashupati Shumser Rana has declared that none of the major three party leaders possess the needed competence to resolve the national crisis.

Rana who also chairs Rastriya Prajatantra Party opined this while addressing a press interaction in Kathmandu, September 10, 2012, and said that there lay no other alternative than to hold fresh elections.

“Holding parliamentary elections first and setting aside first six months period to draft the constitution is the only solution,” he suggested.

One needs to pay for forwarding suggestions. It is free.

Speaking at the same program, Nepali Congress’s Ram Saran Mahat urged President Ram Baran to immediately take needed steps before it’s too late.

Inviting confrontation that may eventually invite the Nepal Army. New CoAS Mr. Rana has already hinted that NA was an apolitical institution but will not tolerate any disturbance in the society. The message is loud and clear.

“NA will do all it can in order to maintain peace and stability in the country”, said, August 10, 2012, CoAS Mr. Rana

Also claimed Mahat that the President should provide a week time to the parties to nominate their prime ministerial candidates and he added, if the parties fail within the stipulated time period he should take appropriate action.

The Unified Maoists party leader Lila Mani Pokharel however, held that the ceremonial president possesses no right to sack the prime minister.

Hitting the nail right on the head.

“The President has no alternative than to accept the government decision. He cannot sack or appoint a prime minister”, Pokharel concluded.

President is being verbally tamed by the Maoists.
