Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists has claimed once again that political parties will reach accord within the month of Bhadra (16 September 2012).
Dahal made this remark while inaugurating a program in Chitwan, September 10, 2012.
He also told the attending mass that the government led by Baburam should not be considered as a hindrance to consensus between parties instead the parties should resolve contentious issues before the government quits.
Dahal’s early signal to Bhattarai.
He also revealed that the new accord between parties will be based on the ‘Five Point Agreement.’ Is he referring to Panchsheel?
Since the New Delhi pencil drafted 12-Point agreement, November 22, 2005, Nepali political parties have reached several agreements which one Dahal is referring to is hard to understand. Memory has been in an exhausted state with countless India instructed agreements made thereafter.
“I clearly see that if parties come to compromise over revival of constituent assembly consensus is within our reach”, he beamingly declared.
“Let me also make it clear that Unified Maoists is also not against consensus between parties. All should exhibit equal flexibility”, he concluded.
