Nepal: FM Shrestha to visit Beijing, claims rift with PM not true

Telegraph Nepal

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’ is heading to China for a weeklong trip.

Appears to have become furious. Tehran insult.

The minister had met with a select group of journalists at his residence in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, September 9, 2012, wherein he revealed that he is heading to China to attend a cultural program on September 14, 2012.

He also informed that upon return from China he is scheduled to head to the United States.

While in China, reports have it that he will also meet some high ranking political leadership.

At another plane, referring to the one to one meeting between Nepal’s Prime Minister Baburam with the Indian PM Manmohan in Iran said Prakash, “The news that I was not happy with our prime minister meeting with the Indian PM is not true.”

True event but told to color it.

“Indeed there are differences between us but that does not mean we share bitter relations,” he said.

He also informed that the ministry of foreign affairs has recently reminded prime minister, president, ministers, political party leaders and heads of foreign diplomatic missions to provide apriori information (advance information) to the ministry if they plan a meeting between themselves.

Such acts were in existence but who cares?

To recall, the other day the Ministry had virtually warned the President not to meet a delegation of European Ambassadors who were about to request the President not to accept the ordinance forwarded by the government concerning formation of truth and reconciliation commission.

Thanks it was not a delegation from India.

In the mean time, the Presidential secretariat has also confirmed that the president will strictly follow the government decision, claims press advisor Rajendra Dahal.

What about meeting the Indian mission chief if the latter approaches? Can he deny? Any body’s guess.
