Nepal: Democratic system being pushed to precipice says Thapa

Telegraph Nepal

The Chairman of the RPP-Nepal, Kamal Thapa believes that Nepal’s democratic system is being pushed to a precipice.

He made these tantalizing remarks while addressing a gathering of Sindhuli-Kathmandu Contact Forum, September 8, 2012.

Says Kamal Thapa that such a situation in the country has approached simply because the Maoists have become successful in compelling the Nepali Congress and the UML party to go its preferred way.

“The need of the hour is to forge unity in between the entire Nepali political parties in order to get rid the country out from the increasing political instability, anarchy and confusion”, opined the Chairman of the RPP-Nepal.

As Mr. Thapa believes, “since  the Maoists were hell bent on imposing authoritarian rule in the nation and thus what was most important at this point of time was to have a fresh poll”.

“The conduct of fresh elections has now no alternative to get out from the current political stalemate”, added Thapa.

He also appealed his audience not to listen talks centered on the revival of the now dead CA body. His appeal was also for the political parties.
