Nepal: Institutionalize republic first then sustain federalism, says Thapa

Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa of Rastriya Janshakti Party has appealed political parties to remain focused on institutionalizing the republican order.

Does that mean Thapa sees the ‘gifted’ order is trembling? If Thapa says so then it must be true? He speaks only when he is told to speak.

“The mandate of Loktantrik Andolan was to establish the republican order along with the federal order. While establishing the federal order there is also the need to institutionalize the republican order,” said Thapa.

Thapa has turned into a versatile Political theorist.

It is considered that Thapa is the dearest of the Indian establishment among all Nepali leaders. Connection begins right from the Indira Gandhi days, to recall.

Formerly a staunch royalist, he has well established himself as one of the strong republican leaders in the changed political order, critics have it.

He was made PM of Nepal for over six times by the Nepal Kings in the past. A distinction indeed.

Equipped with the ability to quickly adapt to changing political environment he is considered one the most successful politician of Nepal, also claim critics.

What counts in effect is uninterrupted alien “blessing”.

His detractors however, claim that in the future if India swallows Nepal he will be the first among all political leaders to issue a statement welcoming the Indian move.

However, analysts beg to differ with his detractors and believe that no one can ever suspect Thapa’s nationalist credentials.

Be that as it may, Thapa also claimed addressing the program organized by his party in Kathmandu, September 7, 2012 that to get rid of the present political impasse there is no other alternative than holding fresh round of election.

Unconfirmed reports have it that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi had made a personal call to ailing Thapa at the Norvic Hospital.

He thus reportedly quickly recovered.

But it could just be a ploy to malign his high prestige credentials made by his detractors.Yet analysts respect and honor him.

  • Sura Bthapa,G.p.Koirala,Baburam,Prachanda,Sitaula,Nepal,Sujatha,Kahanal are all Indian pimps and are the sole traitors of the motherland. They use the word " people " every time when ever they are in need but making a mokery of the people. These people have sold the entire Neplese Population. It is time for the entire Neplese people to wake up before there is no Nepal.
