“Desh nai Dharma Ho. Desh nai Karma ho”
A totally frustrated President Sushil Koirala of Nepali Congress who is being ridiculed from within the party and outside for his miserable failure in taking proper stand in favor of peace and also to effectively run his own party, sang this song which literally means “Country is Religion. Country is Karma”.
Heart pleasing note indeed.
First time from any NC stalwart? Or else never heard. Though late BP realized this after being insulted by Madame Indira Gandhi while being in Indian exile. BP was a strong nationalist.
This interesting event took place at a program in Fidim of Panchthar District, August 21, 2012.
“Once More…Once More,” his party cadres present at the program chanted.
The NC leaders remembering their motherland is a rare event indeed, critics comment and added, only when in great difficulties NC leaders have the habit of remembering the country of their birth.
Koirala then began criticizing the Unified Maoists’ Party. Koirala however, for long time now have not criticized Nepal’s former King Gyanendra.
“The Unified Maoists’ Party is pressurizing the president from various quarters. They have been threatening the president. It was lawful on the part of the president to reject the election related ordinances forwarded by the government. They have begun threatening the president which is not good.”
By the way, Nepali Congress and the UML leadership is in close touch with Nepal Army, high sources claim. The Army too is in a serious state, analysts have been told.
