Nepal: India’s unruly behavior needs a change says scholar Kansakar

Telegraph Nepal

In his concluding remarks, octogenarian Professor Vidya Bir Singh Kansakar writes in his exclusive write-up for Kantipur National Daily, August 15, 2012, “Ignoring contributions made by Nepal and Nepali people in its various sectors, India looks towards Nepal with suspicion. It is equally true that because of its unruly behavior, India has ever failed to win the hearts of Nepali people. There could be no second opinion than India needs to change its behavior towards Nepal.”

Hitting the nail right on the head.

He also writes in the article, “Nepali people have been serving the Indian Army in Gorkha Battalion and Assam Rifles. They have also been serving India as border security forces and paramilitary forces. Similarly, Nepalis are serving Indian Police force. They have also been deployed as Darbans and Choukidars at India’s major cities to safeguard their personal properties. They serve the Indians as domestic maids; work at hotels, Restaurants and Factories. In all, Nepalis have been making huge contributions at various sectors…this apart Nepal born Gautam Buddha is one of greatest contributions of Nepal to India. He dedicated his entire life to India and has enhanced India’s prestige…it is a fact that Mahabir’s Jain and Gurunanak’s Sikh religions have been heavily influenced by Buddha’s teachings. Influenced by Buddha’s teachings India has propounded the theories of peaceful existence and non-interference—i.e. the non alignment. But, India has never put those theories into practice while dealing with the immediate neighbors. Nepal has however, adhered to the same policy and always disallowed activities against its neighbors, India and China.

  • Yes, I agree with you. We should close our Embassy in New Delhi and return to Nepal. Force the closure of all Indian factories, and establishments in Nepal. Need to ask all Nepalis in India to return home. Then only we can teach the Indians a good lesson. Then we can send all our poor Nepalis to work in China and ask the Chinese to take over all the Indian factories and business. One more issue, need to stop all Bollywood movies immediately, stop our ladies from wearing Indian clothes like salwar khameez and sarees too and men the Indian dhoti. Ban all imports of Indian good and petrol too. We have enough Hydroelectric power, and also stop our rivers from flowing into India. Yes we need to teach the ungrateful and treacherous Indians a lesson.
