Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists Party at an interaction program organized by Nepal Communist Party-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya challenged Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist Party to settle disputes on federalism related issues through ‘direct street confrontation’.
Mood is to invite chaos.
On Saturday August 11, 2012, at the program seated beside Dahal was General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ of NCP-Maoist and seated next to Badal was Chairman Mohan Baidya Kiran.
Birds of same feather after all flock together.
After the formal party split, this was for the first time Dahal accepted the invitation from the rival NC-Maoist? Is it that?
“Why don’t they (NC & UML) also come forward forming an alliance? If consensus is not possible through talks we can settle our disputes in the streets,” Dahal made this threatening remark.
The NCP-Maoist at the meeting formally forwarded the proposal for a round table conference.
Present at the program were representatives of political parties, the so-called leaders of dollar spinning civil society, former members of constituent assembly and other stake holders.
“We also do not accept a Congress Government to hold the election. The five point agreement is no more relevant. Under no circumstances we will accept the NC government. Identity based federalism is the only meeting point. If they accept we are ready else not.”
Polarization begins.Great challenge to NC and the UML.
