Twenty parties under the leadership of ruling Unified Maoists Party have decided to give a shape to what they call ‘Federal Democratic Alliance”-the FDI.
The alliance is, according to reports, a coalition of parties that have been advocating in favor of ‘identity based federalism.’
The meeting between the parties took place at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluatar, August 9, 2012.
Addressing the gathering Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists claimed, “We need to unite to become one of the strongest forces. We can do so by forming an alliance. Our decision will be crucial”.
He also said, “The alliance will continue until election held and constitution drafted. We will win two third majority and draft constitution of our liking.”
He however, remained tight lipped as to whether this alliance will enjoy NOIDA support as usual or not?
The meeting also discussed possibility of holding another round of CA election and revival of constituent assembly.
The parties in the alliance are Forum-Loktantrik, Forum-Ganatantrik, Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP), TMLP-Nepal, Sadvawana, Tamsaling Nepal Rastirya Dal, Sanghiya Sadvawana, Marxist Leninist-Socialist, Nepal Family Party and others.
Thanks Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad did not preside over this special meet as he did on May 2, 2012.
Grand polarisation begins.
