Claimed President Sushil Koirala of Nepali Congress, the nation is mainly suffering because the chairman of largest political party-Unified Maoists Pushpa Kamal Dahal is himself a ‘dubious political character’.
“His frequent yet contradictory assurances, changing words and lack of ability to fulfill the commitments have pushed the nation to the brink,” claimed Koirala in an encounter with the press at his residence in Kathmandu, August 6, 2012.
“I made it clear to president (Ram Baran) that as the leader of the largest party, Dahal’s frequently changing words have pushed the nation to the brink,” Koirala told.
At another plane Koirala said that the opposition parties will peacefully step up their movement forward against the government.
“We do not have weapons. We do not also believe in ‘weapon politics’. We will resort to peaceful and democratic means. We will fight with the government constitutionally, through our struggle and also keep door open for talks. ”
Koirala urging Prime Minister Baburam to resign said, “The decision to hold election will be taken by a consensus government. It is imperative for Baburam ji to tender his resignation to allow formation of the new government.”
When asked who will lead the country as the next prime minister from his party said Koirala, “In less than half an hour time the party will decide who is to lead the countrynext from our party. The decision will be taken democratically”, assured Sushil Da.
