Nepal Madhesh parties mulling over forming a single united party: Media

Amid series of splits, Nepal’s Madhesi parties now have begun discussing for the formation of one single party

Merging all parties into one is not impossible in Madhesh. This is what Vice Chairman Hridayesh Tripathi of Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) claimed while addressing an exclusive Madhesi gathering in Kathmandu, August 5, 2012.

Yet he said that unless all parties representing the Madhesi population unite to give shape to one single party, Madhesi problems will not be resolved, he also claimed. 

Our top leadership has held several rounds to discussions to create one party representing entire Tarai plains, he claimed and added, the movement has now reached to the second and third ranking party leadership.

The TMLP vice chairman also claimed, “Our party is ready to make any sacrifice to achieve the noble cause”.

Anil Kumar Jha of Sanghiya Sadvawana Party addressing the gathering opined that favorable atmosphere must be created first before forcefully forwarding the single entity agenda forward.

General Secretary of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (Ganatantrik) Atma Ram Sah said, “It is our responsibility to uncover reason behind flurry of splits in the Madhesi parties.”

“Unless we shun our petty personal interests unity is impossible”, he also said.

  • just a next strategy to win election as election is just ahead. And then after election and win again go your own way. A next chal to cheat terai people. If they stand in election separately none of this rascal will win and hence another net to cheat terai basi. ha ha ha

  • For how many hours? a single party where all wants to be president,no one is less than president,and almost all have dreams to be billinior through this business.because politics has become a great rentable business not a service to the people and the country. I am speaking so harsh for our madeshi brother simply because if you are hut then show us becoming a durable party with a dignilty and an example for others.I wish if you could do that.Otherwise please donot make it a steping stone- you will loose the background in your own Madhesh.
