Nepal leader Oli tries his luck in India, meets new Indian President

Whereas China has sent its clear message against ‘ethnicity based federalism’ through its newly found ally (?) in Chairman Mohan Baidya Kiran of Nepal Communist Party-Maoist, a similar message has been aired by New Delhi rulers through India’s permanent ally (let us presume it to be so as per the rumour) who happens to be the senior leader of United Marxist Leninist, K.P. Sharma Oli.

It is reported that Oli is on a personal trip to New Delhi yet during his short sojourn there he has already met India’s newly elected President Pranab Mukherjee aka Poltu Da and some influential ruling and opposition party leaders.

Baboo Moshai appears not to remain as a ceremonial President.He has very recently said that "I will become the President of all". He meant perhaps of the entire South Asian region?

Home away from home.

Oli has already met with senior leaders of ruling National Congress Party, such as Dr. Karan Singh ( the ruler of Kashmir who could unfortunately not be crowned) and Janardan Dwivedi. Dr. Singh is a regular visitor to Nepal and in all his visits to Nepal meets with former King Gyanendra Shah with whom he shares familial ties. He is currently serving under Sonia Gandhi-the Indian queen.

To recall, only recently King Gyanendra in an interview with a television channel had claimed that he had reached an agreement with the then agitating political parties of Nepal to retain the institution of monarchy. However, Gyanendra claimed in an indirect manner that he was duped by the parties while the parties declared the country a republic. Perhaps Dr. Singh was the sole witness of such an agreement between Nepal’s political parties and the then King.

Nevertheless, according to reports, Oli has also met with Ms. Sushama Swaraj and Yashwant Sinha of the main opposition Bharatiya Jananata Party.

Indian leaders like Sarad Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sita Ram Yechuri were some political “luminaries” with whom Oli has also held talks.

Unfortunately he could not make with Sukh Deo Muni. Great loss for Nepal.

Oli considers himself as one of the prime candidates for next Nepal PM post.

Oli told Annapurna Post in New Delhi, “I found all the Indian leaders worried over the present state of peace and constitutional processes. They are hopeful that Nepali leaders are themselves able to sort out their differences and find an amicable solution.”

So why he went to Delhi to seek direct Indian intervention?

He claimed “Forces that rely on ‘ethnicity’ to gain political advantage will time permitting fade away”.
