The former Maoists combatants who were present at the ongoing party plenum in Kathmandu, July 18, 2012, looked in a mood to physically attack the party leadership for what they alleged ‘embezzlement of funds’.
The Unified Maoists Party led by Chairman Pushpa Kamal is holding seventh extended plenum meet of the party central committee in Kathmandu.
With the former Maoists fighters disrupting the proceedings, the meeting was called off on Wednesday.
To recall, Sanghu weekly had earlier reported quoting sources that Chairman Dahal and his coterie have gulped tentatively Rs. 10 Billion from the fund allocated by the government to the Maoists cantonment combatants.
“There are evidences of the direct involvement of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Barsaman Pun, Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’, Nanda Kishor Pun Pasang, Chandra Prakash Khanal ‘Baldev’ and some other PLA commanders”, Sanghu reported.
“Of the total amount earmarked by the state for the PLA, Rs. 9.5 Billion have been solely swallowed up by the Chairman himself,” the weekly quoted an unnamed Maoists leader as saying.
May be out of this money, Prakash Dahal eloped with his share? But not sure.
On Wednesday, the Maoists fighters took over the rostrum and chanted slogans demanding immediate action against the culprits.
