Guerrilla warfare in Nepal likely: Maoist leader Netra Bikram

Telegraph Nepal

Whether the Maoists do it intentionally or they have no control whatsoever over their oratory is something now to mull over.

It was the other day General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ of the newly formed NCP-Maoist claimed that his party will not enter into the jungles and declare war against the state.

In sharp contrast to what Badal had said in Jhapa, party secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ while addressing a program in Surkhet claimed that within a year time his party will declare guerrilla warfare.

Prachanda’s disciples! Keeping the population guessing!

“In six months time the party will hold its general assembly and with that we will declare a guerrilla war”, claimed Biplav.

“Our prime objective is to capture the state and we are marching on the same course without any deviation”, he also claimed.

Some two hundred cadres were present at the training program organized by party Bheri-Karnali State Committee.

“We will not register the party (in the election commission) because if we do that we have to accept the constitution and we will return to the same position (from where we had left). We do not accept the parliamentary system. We will nevertheless form an alliance if needed. The party top leaders will not become a part of the alliance. We will remain out to prepare for the revolt.”

In the meantime, our objective is to enhance the number of party cadres and supporters, he claimed and added, we will also increase the number of peoples’ liberation army. At present the number of PLA with us is in between twenty to twenty two thousand.

Another headache for the region. Cheers Indian Naxals. Friends across the border is swelling.

  • , The major cause behind all these is lack of coletpme faith and assurance among the political forces and in the case of maoists is also same. I do not know what you are trying to say here. The maoists did sign the agreement with the governement but that does not prove their sincerity. The King was among the first to congratulate the govenrment of the signing of the agreement. From the above line inbetween the quotes, you seem to be saying the SPAM themselves are a threat to the peace agreement now or the lack of coletpme faith as you put it. King is the enemy of democracy, how? The activities of the SPAM prove that they are the enemy of the nation and her citizens not just democracy.

  • this is why the people hate the leaders. if media too thinks that they have done their job then it is sign of immaturity once again.
