Nepal PM resignation should be beginning point for accord: Baidya

Telegraph Nepal

Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists Party first time after division in his carefully nurtured party with alien backing , June 16, 2012 met with the Chairman of the newly formed party, NCP-Maoist Mohan Baidya Kiran.

Chairman Baidya had visited Dahal’s posh bungalow in Lazimpat, Kathmandu July 8, 2012.

As per reports the two discussed possibility of revival of constituent assembly and with that promulgation of constitution with clear provisions for identity based federalism.

The two leaders also discussed ways out from the present political deadlock, reports confirm.

“Prime Minister Baburam should tender his resignation first to move in the direction of forging consensus. To resolve the deadlock through revival of Constitution Assembly or to hold the CA election once again PM Baburam’s resignation should be the beginning point”, Baidya is quoted as saying by Ms. Phampa Bhusal. Bhusal is the spokesperson of the new party.

Dahal in reply said that as the parties forge consensus on one among the two available alternatives, PM Baburam will tender his resignation.

Dahal is playing double with PM Bhattarai, it appears.
