Talks between Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and dissident leader Mohan Baidya Kiran to keep the party unity intact failed on Wednesday June 13, 2012.
Dahal had invited Baidya at his newly purchased bungalow wherein the two Comrade-in-arms held talks for half an hour.
Baidya was also handed over a seven point unity proposal by the party chairman. No other leaders representing the Baidya camp was present on the occasion.
Baidya told Dahal that he will send a formal reply to the establishment faction on Thursday.
Nevertheless after holding talks with the leaders from his panel, Biadya told the media that the proposal forwarded by the party chairman is inadequate to address the problems and issues raised by his team.
“The proposal is a customary one. If he wants to keep the party united, the party must shun the line of Democratic Republic and accept Peoples Republic.”
“We want the party chairman to publicly apologize for the series of agreements he has signed with other parties such as seven point agreement, four point agreements. And, he must also apologize for BIPPA agreement with India, surrender of PLA to Nepal Army. These are the preconditions to keep the party united”, also claimed a determined Baidya.
“We will formally respond to his proposal” he said and added, “The party must make a written commitment to the ethnic communities for supporting ethnic federalism.”
Drama or what? The puzzle continues.
