NC frustration deepens, to boycott Nepal PM public presence

Telegraph Nepal

The so-called oldest surviving democratic party of Nepal, Nepali Congress-which has remained out of power for quite some time now have begun showing clear signs of deep frustration. NC and lust for Chair go together.

According to a fresh decision made by the party, the party leaders will refrain from attending any public meetings where Prime Minister Baburam and the members of his cabinet will be present.

This decision is among various modes of protest programs declared by the party against the government decision to hold another round of Constituent Assembly election.

The party central committee meeting held, Wednesday June 13, 2012, has decided to hold protest programs such as black flag demonstration, whistle march and public meetings beginning June 17 to June 22, 2012 at several places throughout the country.

As per the party decision, on June 23 the party will hold intellectual gathering and beginning June 24 to June 29 public demonstration and mass meetings will be organized.

A statement issued by the party reads, “The decision to hold election after dissolving the constituent assembly has pushed the country towards unprecedented constitutional and political crisis. This decision of the government is unconstitutional, reactionary and dictatorial. The prime minster holds no moral right to continue to remain in power.”

But will NOIDA come to the NC support as usual? Forget it.

  • NC is living upto my expectations ! Not that i oppose all their activities but one thing was very clear that whatever Maoists say they have to "OPPOSE!". Last important incidence I want to quote was about the PLA fighters. They{NC} had said that after the Camps were vacated constitution writing will be finished immediately-that time only I had commented in some papers that NC will come out with some additional condition/demand. Same thing has happened and this sort of things had happened in the past also-people of the country know it very well!! Therefore NC will always stick to their guns whether it is in National interest or otherwise.
